CONFESSIONAL. EXEGETICAL. PASTORAL.
October 2022
Dear Kristen,
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I write with great thankfulness to the Lord for His abundant mercies, and to all of you for your loving care for IRBS. We have been busy in the Lord's work and we rejoice to see Him being glorified in his churches. The new academic year has begun, and classes are moving forward at a rapid pace. This semester, we have 50 students registered for classes as well as 20 additional auditors. We regularly receive inquiries from prospective students, and it seems that every week we admit a new student or students to our programs. Our podcast Theology in Particular has been well-received, as well as our micro-cast Consider the Confession. We have been extremely busy in the Lord's work.
A wonderful recent development is the establishment of formal relationships with several regional Reformed Baptist associations. These agreements will bring us closer to the churches and provide important accountability for us. With God's blessing and by the power of His Holy Spirit, we want to maintain our commitment to the truth of Scripture and to our mission to train men for ministry around the world. These arrangements are an important part of that plan. We need churches to watch us and ensure that we follow the Lord's pathways as revealed in the Scriptures. By joining with these associations of churches, there is a direct means of mutual communication, cooperation and accountability to the churches. We thank God.
Thank you very much for your continued prayer and financial support. The Lord uses you to assist us, so that we might serve you!
In Christ,
James M. Renihan, President, IRBS

Symbolics, Part 1 with Dr. James Renihan

All are welcome to join us for this important study of the London Baptist Confessions of Faith. This course is designed to be a detailed examination of the London Baptist Confession of 1677/89 with the language explained, supported and defended so as to understand what the early Baptists asserted. The purpose is to understand the Confession in its historical setting and its relevance to the present. It's not too late to join! More information here.

From Dr. Samuel Renihan
The Petty France Church (Part 2) will be out later this year, published by the Centre for Baptist Studies in Oxford. This volume focuses on the life and family of the founder of the church, Edward Harrison. Edward founded the church, and his family and relatives formed a core part of the church's members and officers. To study the history of the Harrisons and their relatives is, therefore, to study the heart of the Petty France Church itself. Their history is presented in twelve chapters of biography based on extensive research in primary sources. Images, maps, family trees, autographs and more are provided to help the reader get closer and closer to the Harrisons and the Petty France Church.
Check out Part 1 here.

Please be in prayer for our new students this fall and for those considering spring enrollment. Men around the world are joining our student body, so please pray that we continue to serve them well even from a distance. Praise God for new international relationships and evidence of the Spirit's work around the world!
Pray for traveling mercies for our faculty coming to Mansfield to teach and for our administration traveling to conferences and such. Also, for those traveling to Tijuana in January for our Missions & Evangelism course.
May IRBS be an effective tool in the Lord's hand, equipping future pastors and lay believers around the world with truth, grace, and boldness for His Kingdom.
Soli Deo Gloria!

We live in this present evil age, but we do not submit to it. Rather, our life is in the heavenly sphere of the age to come. So, whatever we do in this world we do it with an eye to Christ and our resurrection in Him. We live this way and not as if we are dead in our sins. ~ Timothy Decker, NT602 Acts & Pauline Epistles
