Creating Consistency with Module Templates

Looking for ways to create a consistent look and feel in your Canvas course? Try using module templates! Each semester, your course comes preloaded with a template module that you can use as a foundation for building new content. Using template pages helps provide a consistent, polished look and feel throughout your course. These templates also help you streamline content creation and organization. To use template pages, follow these quick steps:

Step 1: Locate preferred template page in the [Template] Module and duplicate the page. See How do I duplicate a module item?

Step 2: Move the duplicated page to the relevant module.

Step 3: Edit the page and update content as needed. Note: When you create a new page from a template, be sure to rename your page using the proper naming convention (M01, M02, etc.)

Remember, you can delete the module if you're not using the template pages. If you ever need to re-add a template page to your course, you can import it from the Canvas Commons by searching "AAP Template" or filtering search results for the AAP Faculty Commons Group.
