Pssst!... Did you know IRCC golf members get complimentary golf lessons?

Jamie Forrest, a native Floridian, will celebrate her 2nd anniversary as an Assistant Golf Professional at IRCC in April. Jamie says teaching and recreation are her passion, and it shows. A high school golfer, she has worked as a teacher, in Parks and Recreation at Patrick Space Force Base, and other golf courses before joining us at Indian River Colony Club. IRCC golf members receive complimentary golf lessons. Jamie teaches two days a week and is usually booked about a month in advance. Here are photos of Jamie working with IRCC resident, NeNe Jones.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey Visits IRCC

The Residents Activity Council (RAC) sponsored a safety and security talk by Sheriff Wayne Ivey in late January. There wasn't an empty seat in Colony Hall! All in attendance appreciated the informative discussion. The sheriff also had his four-footed sidekick, Junny, with him -- who charmed the crowd.

Florida's Space Coast - Great American Defense Communities

Did you know that the Space Coast is one of just five recently named Great American Defense Communities for 2022? According to the April 6 press release from Washington, D.C. –

Florida’s Space Coast, home to Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, is one of five communities across the country named to the 2022 Class of Great American Defense Communities.

The Association of Defense Communities (ADC) announced the five selected communities in conjunction with USAA, the program’s official sponsor at the Defense Communities National Summit earlier this month. The 2022 class also includes West Valley Partners, Ariz., Tullahoma, Tenn., Antelope Valley, Calif., and Northern Virginia.

“Our military needs America’s defense communities to support them,” ADC President Bob Ross said. “We selected Florida’s Space Coast because they are a region that consistently goes above and beyond to support service members, veterans, and military families living in their community.”

U.S. News & World Report Ranks Melbourne #4 in The 10 Best Places to Retire in the U.S. in 2021-2022:
