IRCC Celebrates Independence Day!

July 4th at Indian River Colony Club was a red, white and blue affair! Members gathered outside the At Ease Club for a patriotic celebration of our nation's birth, including a golf cart parade and luncheon of favorite picnic foods! Check our Facebook page to see more photos!

Senior cyclists ride for fun, the benefits of health, camaraderie

Indian River Colony Club, a gated golf community in Viera, is the starting point for the group of seniors who cycle three mornings a week. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings you are likely to encounter the group making the 19-mile trek to Cocoa Village. They call themselves the Tour de Farce.

The group started in 2013 as the Brevard Social Ride, an open Saturday ride on Rockledge Drive. As more residents of Indian River Colony Club joined, the group evolved. Currently there are nine riders ranging in age from 61 to 85.

Florida's Space Coast - Great American Defense Communities

Did you know that the Space Coast is one of just five recently named Great American Defense Communities for 2022? According to the April 6 press release from Washington, D.C. –

Florida’s Space Coast, home to Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, is one of five communities across the country named to the 2022 Class of Great American Defense Communities.

The Association of Defense Communities (ADC) announced the five selected communities in conjunction with USAA, the program’s official sponsor at the Defense Communities National Summit earlier this month. The 2022 class also includes West Valley Partners, Ariz., Tullahoma, Tenn., Antelope Valley, Calif., and Northern Virginia.

“Our military needs America’s defense communities to support them,” ADC President Bob Ross said. “We selected Florida’s Space Coast because they are a region that consistently goes above and beyond to support service members, veterans, and military families living in their community.”

U.S. News & World Report Ranks Melbourne #4 in The 10 Best Places to Retire in the U.S. in 2021-2022:
