IRCC Celebrates the US Army's 249th Birthday in June

The members of Indian River Colony Club came together on June 14th, to celebrate the 249th Birthday of the US Army with a grand birthday ball held in the elegant Colony Hall venue. The evening was filled with patriotism and camaraderie as guests, dressed in their finest attire, honored the long-standing traditions and history of the Army. The hall was beautifully decorated with the US Army colors, along with red, white, and blue, creating a festive atmosphere that echoed the pride and dedication of those who have served. The event featured a formal dinner, a cake cutting ceremony, live music by Showtime Entertainment, and dancing, allowing the residents to reminisce and celebrate the sacrifices and achievements of the US Army over nearly two and a half centuries. The birthday ball was a testament to the strong sense of community and patriotism that thrives within Indian River Colony Club.

Florida's Space Coast - Great American Defense Communities

Did you know that the Space Coast is one of just five recently named Great American Defense Communities for 2022? According to the April 6 press release from Washington, D.C. –

Florida’s Space Coast, home to Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, is one of five communities across the country named to the 2022 Class of Great American Defense Communities.

The Association of Defense Communities (ADC) announced the five selected communities in conjunction with USAA, the program’s official sponsor at the Defense Communities National Summit earlier this month. The 2022 class also includes West Valley Partners, Ariz., Tullahoma, Tenn., Antelope Valley, Calif., and Northern Virginia.

“Our military needs America’s defense communities to support them,” ADC President Bob Ross said. “We selected Florida’s Space Coast because they are a region that consistently goes above and beyond to support service members, veterans, and military families living in their community.”
