What is the Status of the Smart Grid , Solar Power World | 4/8/19

Kankakee Community College: New AETC Building Grand Opening Celebration , Kankakee Times 3/31/19. Kankakee Community College opened its new Advanced Technology Education Center (AETC), a 21,000 square foot building housing its award winning electrical engineering technology program. KCC's electrical engineering technology associate degree with renewable energy technology specialization won IREC's National 3 i Award for Accredited Clean Energy Training Provider of 2014.

On March 25, the Puerto Rico Senate passed bill PS 1121 establishing a renewable energy portfolio standard for the island and calling for 100% renewable energy by 2050. IREC board members Anne Hoskins, chief policy officer Sunrun, and Ronny Sandoval, former s enior director, grid modernization Environmental Defense Fund Renewables, will share their insight with other energy leaders at this two-day conference April 30-May 1, Intercontinental San Juan, San Juan, Puerto Rico. IREC is currently working to support the development of rules governing how microgrids connect to Puerto Rico's distribution grid.
