EXTRA, EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT!
14th Century Europe. 50 million people are dead. The cause: Black Death.
It seems like an open and shut case. Or does it? After all, the plague swept through Europe, killing most of those it came into contact with. So what’s the real story? Mr. Oliveira’s Social Studies 8a class were intrusted this week, as part of their second challenge lab, to gather information on the matter. Students examined, gathered evidence, and ultimately developed a verdict.
Mr. Oliveira has all kinds of pets.
Helpful little critters...
We wrapped up Catholic Schools Week today with the final tally on the food drive competition, a virtual visit with Bishop Gregory to hear his answers to some of our Big Catholic Questions, and the final challenge was a Kahoot trivia challenge between classes to see who will win the CSW Championship for this year! #immacfamily
Prayers written by our students were burned today as a symbolic offering sending them up to Heaven.

HOMESTAY OPPORTUNITIES 2021/22
The International Program is calling all warm, welcoming Immaculata families to consider hosting an International student next fall. This is an amazing opportunity to learn about another culture and show a student the great things about living in Canada. We are looking for families whose language at home is English and who have a spare furnished bedroom that they can offer a student. We ask you to provide students with transportation to and from school as well as meals and snacks. We also ask that you welcome the student into your family and treat him/her as one of your own. We offer tax-free compensation of $925 per month. If you’re interested in learning more, please contact Mrs. Brodeur at the email below. Thank you!

TEXTBOOK RETURN
Attention grades 10-12, remember that with the end of the semester comes the end of your textbooks loan. Please return your textbooks now as they are all technically overdue.
Don't worry, no interrogation, but if you do not return the books signed out to you, they will be marked as "lost" and you will be charged for a replacement cost (TIP: you don't want that!).
Invoices will be sent out on Monday.
With many thanks,
Your friendly neighbourhood school librarian,
Mrs. U.
