TO ALL OUR MUSTANGS!
“Tur-iffic” Turkey Drive Results
Thank you to all Immaculata families for your “tur-mendous” generosity! Not only did we meet our stretch goal of 220 turkeys for this year, but we surpassed it by over 100!!!! That’s right!! We collected enough turkeys and cash to supply the Central Okanagan Food Bank with 340 turkeys for less fortunate families. That is more than double our 2019 collection of 151 turkeys. This is truly an awesome gift to give our Kelowna and West Kelowna community and a testament to the giving spirit at Immaculata. Thank you to Jim Hare, a former Immaculata parent, for initiating and organizing the project for us and to his network for the substantial donations to the cause.
Project 18
TONS of goods donated for Project 18!! Big thank you to everyone for supporting such a great cause. Addressing Youth Homelessness in Kelowna….WooHooo… Go Mustangs.
Angel tree
There was $550 from the students for St. Vincent de Paul. This was in Gift Cards and Cash. Amazing!

STOP THE PRESS: EBOOKS ARE HERE!
We have been working behind the scenes to get our Destiny Discover Catalogue system synchronized with our new connection with SORA by Overdrive. SORA is an app that allows you to "borrow" electronic copies of books that are specifically in our library catalogue. It works pretty much like the LIBBY app for the Public Library. Christmas break would be a great time to test out this app. For more information on SORA or anything related to the Learning Commons digital resources, please feel free to contact Mrs. Uhrich.
To access the app, simply log into Destiny Discover from either the Mustantgs' Learning Commons tab on the Immac website, or the MQVC (Link on top of page of Immac's website.
Here is a video that explains the SORA a bit more.

LEADERSHIP
GRADE 12 LEGACY
This year our Grade 12 Legacy project looked a little different. With the constraints of COVID-19 students couldn’t give back in the same way they have in previous years. So this year’s grad class set out to make gift bags for vulnerable members of our community.
Grade 12 coordinators, Renatta and Sam made a connection with Angie Lohr, the executive director of Hope Outreach. This organization supports women in the Okanagan who are homeless, living in addiction and recovery, and various other unfortunate circumstances. We were able to provide 50 bags! Hope Outreach will deliver these bags in the days leading up to Christmas.
The planning and organizing was all done by Grade 12 students... but we had to call on some grade 11 elves to help finish it all off.
Thank you to the grade 11s and 12s for your support in making this happen!
