GRADE 7s MEET IMMAC MUSTANGS
COVID has a way of getting in the way of everything. Including our annual Grade 7 Articulation day, which traditionally has all the grade 7s from our sister schools OLOL and SJK come visit us for a day in the life of Immac experience. This year? Not so much. But we thought...if you can't come to us, we'll come to you (Covid protocols followed, of course). A team of Grade 11s joined Mustang the Mascot (still nameless), and Mr. Plaxton in welcoming the future grade 8s. Nothing can dampen our school spirit and proof of it is in the pudding...or should we say, the cookie game?
FAITH IN ACTION
Theology 12 class putting their religion into action!! We were in 2 different locations to ensure that groups were small enough to respect COVID standards of safety….. Kelowna Food Bank and Kelowna Gospel Mission Thrift Store.

HEROES IN EDUCATION
It has been a crazy 12 months for the staff, students and parents at Immaculata. The same can be said for all schools – around the world!! The Capital News is doing a feature on the Unsung Heroes in Education and they are looking for nominations. If you feel that a member of the Immaculata staff went above and beyond for your child(ren) over the last 12 months, could you please take a few minutes to submit your 250 word explanation of why this person should be recognized and thanked. Any kind of stories are welcome – whether it’s about sports and school clubs, aiding a student academically, or bringing some joy and fun to a difficult year. All that is asked is that these people went beyond the call of duty.

Deadline: March 17th 5pm

HOMESTAYS NEEDED
The International Program is calling all warm, welcoming Immaculata families to consider hosting an International student next fall. This is an amazing opportunity to learn about another culture and show a student the great things about living in Canada. We are particularly in need of families with boys who could host boys in grade 8 – 11. We ask that families speak English at home, and have a spare furnished bedroom that they can offer a student. We ask you to provide students with transportation to and from school as well as meals and snacks. We also ask that you welcome the student into your family and treat him/her as one of your own. We offer tax-free compensation of $925 per month.
