IRMA Returns $14.25 million in Investment Returns to Members
Each year, the IRMA Board of Directors reviews our claim reserves and investment income to determine if there is excess cash that can be returned to IRMA members. In just the last 10 years, IRMA has returned $104.5 million to its members. This excess cash is primarily due to our excellent investment returns. Each year, IRMA collects contributions from its members based on our actuary’s recommendation and projection of claims that will need to be paid during the claim year.

Cybersecurity:
How IRMA is Helping its Members
In response to the bleak outlook for cyber liability insurance, the IRMA Executive Board recommended creating an IT/Cyber Committee (“ITCC”) to examine cyber security and liability issues facing the membership. At the May Committee meeting, the Committee was presented with two vendors to explore to make a part of a preferred provider program to assist members with best practices, training, auditing, and assessing cyber security processes and controls, KnowBe4 and Cyber Concierge. Programs were developed with each vendor at reduced pricing for IRMA members.

Endpoint Security and Prevention
Endpoint security is the practice of securing endpoints or entry points of end-user devices such as desktops, laptops, and mobile devices from being exploited by malicious actors and campaigns. Endpoint security systems protect these endpoints on a network or in the cloud from cybersecurity threats. Beyond Employee Resilience: A Focus on Mental Wellness
Employee mental wellness is so much more complicated than simply focusing on resilience training. Employees are seeking a balance between their work obligations and their personal lives, and they are willing to bail on a job that doesn’t feel supportive of this balance. Building Code Enforcement Win
Much like a parking ticket, the issuance of a building code violation carries with it a presumption of guilt. The First District Appellate Court recently held that where a residential property is deemed by a municipality to be a fire hazard, the property owner has no claim for a violation of his right to due process when he is given the opportunity to challenge that presumption in an administrative proceeding.
