It was started by National Cyber Security Division, a division of the Office of Cyber Security & Communications to raise the awareness about the importance of cyber security. This is time for businesses and organizations to reflect on cyber threats and act to protect their devices, network, and data.
Cybersecurity Awareness Month is an important month dedicated to promoting internet safety. Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2022 begins on Saturday, October 1st, and ends on Monday, October 31st. The 2022 Cybersecurity Awareness Month theme is: “It’s Easy to Stay Safe Online — See Yourself in Cyber.”

Congratulations Carol Stream IT Department
IRMA is happy to announce the 2022 IRMA Award Recipient Village of Carol Stream IT Department. They developed an internal Cyber-Security Risk Mitigation and Response Management System. This system addresses cybersecurity through a multi-functional system to help detect, mitigate, and response to all network and host behavioral abnormalities. This program has an ability to be duplicated at nominal costs. More information on this program will be available on our website on November 1.
How IRMA is Helping its Members
In response to the bleak outlook for cyber liability insurance, the IRMA Executive Board recommended creating an IT/Cyber Committee (“ITCC”) to examine cyber security and liability issues facing the membership. At the May Committee meeting, the Committee was presented with two vendors to explore to make a part of a preferred provider program to assist members with best practices, training, auditing, and assessing cyber security processes and controls, KnowBe4 and Cyber Concierge. Programs were developed with each vendor at reduced pricing for IRMA members.

If not properly aligned with management goals and the message of safety leadership, however, supervision can directly or indirectly contribute to eroding the confidence of team members in the safety process when misalignment between safety and production expectations occur.
