Helpful ID&R Websites
This month we are focusing on websites that are very informative and easy to use to keep up with national agriculture trends.
Farmers.gov- This site has been created to farmers to learn about all of the different USDA programs out there to help them. There is also some great information for recruiters to be aware of at this time. This includes list-serves that will keep you up-to-date about ag trends, programs and local resources for farmers you can reach out to and a lot more.
Civil Eats- This site features articles that promote critical thought about sustainable agriculture and food systems in the US. They often have articles about issues farmworkers are facing. Look around and you will find articles that mention impacts fires in CA are having on farmworkers, the H2a program, labor changes, farmer profiles, and much more.
The Dairy Alliance- This is a great site to see current articles that impact the dairy sector across the county. It explains current changes, challenges, and wins for the dairy industry.
Vegetable Growers News- This site is full of information of current trends impacting vegetable growers as well as farmworkers. A few current highlights are on recent e-coli outbreaks, new large farms opening, GMO labeling impacts, and the Farm Workforce Moderization Act on the possible ag labor package and more.
