News & Updates

July 2026

The IRS has announced an increase to the optional standard mileage rates for business, medical, and certain moving expenses effective July 1, 2026, citing higher fuel costs. This marks the first mid-year mileage rate adjustment since 2022. The charitable mileage rate remains unchanged.

*Moving expenses are deductible only for qualified active-duty military members and certain eligible members of the intelligence community.

What This Means

If you:

  • Own a business
  • Receive mileage reimbursements from your employer
  • Claim deductible medical travel
  • Qualify for deductible moving expenses

Be sure to apply the new mileage rates to travel on or after July 1st. Mileage driven before July 1st should continue to use the original 2026 rates.
