Dear Intermediate School Families,
We wanted to start with a great big thank you to the Scott Township Police Department, our SRO Officer Abel, and the entire community for helping us to navigate through and keep the building operating in a safe manner. The entire CVIS staff came together and helped to swiftly move students to safe zones, and continued the school day with as much normalcy as possible. Our office staff juggled parent calls and teacher needs to help provide information to families and community members. Our communications department, central administration, and transportation department were constantly working through the evolving situation. While it was certainly an alarming situation, having all of these supports helped to maintain safety throughout the building. We are certainly CV proud!
As we approach the holiday season, CVIS will again be participating in multiple fundraisers to help members of our community. This year the Intermediate School is proud to again partner with the Highmark Caring Place and will be holding the Coins for Caring Fundraiser from November 14-17. Children's Grief Awareness Day is Thursday, November 17 and everyone is encouraged to WEAR BLUE! Additionally, students will be decorating hope butterflies to hang throughout the halls. Students are encouraged to bring in their coins daily in a baggie. We will separate the coins by grade level and the winning grade will receive a lunchtime music party! We thank you for helping to support this great cause.
Our second fundraiser will be the annual Thanks for Giving Food Drive. We will be collecting items for the drive beginning Monday, November 21st, and will conclude the drive on Friday, December 2nd. As in the past, we will have some friendly competition in the building and the winning class for each grade level with the most items donated will receive a popcorn party.
Looking forward to a great second nine weeks!
