Dear Intermediate School Families,

It is hard to believe that we are already in November! This school year is certainly flying by. We have had so many wonderful events in the month of October and look forward to all that November will bring along.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help make this year’s Horseshoe Hustle a success! Students enjoyed a nice stretch session, jogging the track (with some games added in), and wrapped up with some yoga to decompress while they were treated to an apple and water. It was great seeing all the classes engaged, excited, and celebrating together!

Device Insurance

Reminder to all CV families: You can still purchase device insurance for your students. Just $20 a year covers accidental damage. Families can purchase device insurance at www.one2onerisk.com.

What is covered?

All physical components of the device due to accidental damage, cracked screens, fire, lightning, liquid damage, electrical surge, theft of device WITH a police report

Calling All 4th and 5th Grade Students! Did you miss your chance to Be Part of the Band?

Learn more about being part of the band and the instruments taught at the Intermediate School by watching the videos posted on the IS Band website. Choose your favorite instrument and complete the registration form below to select which instrument you would like to learn how to play. If you are not sure which one you should pick, Ms. Grondziowski can help you decide which one would be the best fit. You can email her with questions at mgrondziowski@cvsd.net. Lessons will begin in January.

Mrs. Brown

Mrs. Brown has been the Building/Principal Secretary at the Intermediate School for the past nine years. Before that, she worked as a corporate travel agent for American Express. She and her husband have lived in Bridgeville for 27 years and raised two wonderful children, Jake, who works for the school district, and Zoey, who works for Duquesne University.

When not working, Mrs. Brown enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her Irish Setter/Brittany mix, Murphy. She enjoys reading, puzzles, movies, and traveling with her family. Although her favorite place to be is the beach, she is currently in the middle of planning her family's next adventure to New Orleans.

Mrs. Kowalo

Mrs. Kowalo has worked for every building in the district in some capacity over her 22 years with the district. She has been with the IS as the attendance secretary for the past 4 years. Prior to working for CV, she worked as a medical secretary with her degree from Robert Morris University, and then took some time to stay at home with the arrival of her son.

Mrs. Kowalo is married to her husband, Nick, and they have one son, RJ (age 24), and 2 dogs named Lily and Otis. She enjoys attending movies, concerts, going out to eat, and reading. During the summer you can find her by her pool with a good book.
