Dear Intermediate School Families,

What a great start to the school year! It has been so wonderful getting to see all the returning faces and meeting the new students. Below are a few reminders to help the school year start on a positive note.

Back to School Forms:

Thank you to everyone who has completed our Back to School Forms. If you have not yet filled this out, please complete the brief form here.

Chromebook Insurance Information:

Our school district is offering Chromebook insurance this school year. We are encouraging all families to purchase the coverage. Just $20 a year covers accidental damage. Families can purchase device insurance at www.one2onerisk.com.

What is covered?

All physical components of the device due to accidental damage, cracked screens, fire, lightning, liquid damage, electrical surge, theft of device WITH a police report

CVIS PTG Notes:

The membership deadline is Sept 18th. Membership Drive Classroom Challenge: For each grade, the classroom with the most membership receives a $50 Amazon gift card for supplies. See the Link below!

Meet The Team

Katie Benson

Orchestra

Katrina and her husband James have two very rambunctious boys, Ian (12) and Cameron (8), and two crazy English pointers, Molly and Remus. They spend a lot of time romping outdoors in creeks and woods. She also loves to dig in the garden. When indoors, Mrs. Benson can be found quilting and listening to audio books. They have lived in IA, NC, MA, and IL and now hope to make PA their forever home. Mrs. Benson says she is so happy to join the IS family!

Marena Grondziowski

Band

Marena is excited to be teaching here at the Chartiers Valley Intermediate School as the band director! For the past four years, she taught in Erie’s Public Schools as a middle school band director. Throughout that time, she was very successful with community outreach and providing more than 100 instruments to middle school students who were interested in music. Mrs. Grondziowski lives in Pleasant Hills with her husband, and hopes to continue her career as a band director and inspire young minds!

PTG Meeting September 29 at 7 p.m.

Band and Orchestra

Band and Orchestra lessons will begin on Thursday, September 1st. Student lessons are scheduled in Infinite Campus and the teachers will be reaching out to the students to share their lesson days and times with them. If you missed signing up for lessons or would like to switch, please email the Ms. Grondziowski at mgrondziowski@cvsd.net for band interest and Mrs. Benson at kbenson@cvsd.net for orchestra. Students who sign up in the fall will begin lessons in January for the second semester.

Here Comes the Bus

Reminder: Here Comes the Bus will not be active until after Labor Day, to allow for transportation changes at the start of the school year.
