28 September 2020 | Chartiers Valley Intermediate School
IS Families,

The first Friday of each month will be a dedicated materials pick-up for CV Cyber students.  Your child’s teacher will communicate directly with you about materials that may need to be picked up during this time.  CV Cyber materials pick-up will be held as a drive through at the auditorium entrance of the Intermediate School at the times listed below.  If you are unable to make a pick up, an alternate arrangement can be made by reaching out to your child’s teacher.  This is ONLY for students enrolled in CV Cyber.  Students attending the hybrid, or soon the hybrid +2 model, do not need to participate in material pick up days.

CV Cyber Materials Pick-up Times:
8:00-9:00 - 4th Grade
9:00-10:00 - 3rd Grade
11:30-12:30 - 5th Grade

This week we will be reviewing and updating student schedules based on changes submitted by parents to their child’s educational pathway and in response to our current enrollment in CV Cyber.  If there are any changes to your child’s schedule, you will be notified and those changes will go into effect on October 19 when the +2 Days Option begins at the Intermediate School.
Sincerely,

Mrs. Julie Franczyk, Principal
Mr. Peter Schintz, Assistant Principal

Free Meals
Chartiers Valley School District is now offering FREE breakfast and FREE lunch to every student, every school day. This includes to-go meals for students learning virtually.

To-go meals for virtual days (both CV Cyber and Hybrid) must be ordered using this Google Form. Orders must be placed 24 hours in advance and picked up at the following times:
  • CV Cyber Students can pick up to-go meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 am -12:00 noon at the High School.
  • Hybrid students with last names beginning in A-K can pick up meals for their remote days at the end of the day each Tuesday before leaving school.
  • Hybrid students with last names beginning in L-Z can pick up their to-go meals each Thursday before going home.

At this time, the free meals for all students will only run until December 31, 2020, at which time meal pay statuses will return to Paid, Free, or Reduced rates based on qualifications.  Be sure to submit your free/reduced meal applications as soon as possible to avoid any gap in benefits. Applications can be found on the District website

Attendance
Remember to take attendance on your online learning days- it takes only a few clicks to do!  Here’s a short and helpful video on how a student can take their attendance in Infinite Campus.  Or, a parent can take their child’s attendance in Infinite Campus.  Click here for a video on how a parent can take attendance.

If your child is absent from school (online or in person), please email the IS Attendance Secretary, skowalo@cvsd.net, If your child is a hybrid student and is too sick for school, but able to attend online, please email your child’s teachers (ELA and Math/Sci) AND skowalo@cvsd.net to let them know your child will be working from home that day.

Birthdays
We know how exciting birthdays are for children. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions we are unable to allow students to distribute any items for birthdays or other occasions.
