10TH GRADE PARENT APPRECIATION LUNCHEON
Our IS staff is off to a good start this year, having enjoyed a great lunch on January 3. As winter is all about staying warm and being comfortable, 10th-grade parents provided comfort food to our unique and awesome staff, consisting of yummy soups, exquisite quiches, and delicious desserts. FOCUS DAY REGISTRATION OPEN FOR JANUARY 15
Join us at Focus Day IN PERSON in Olympia on January 15 to advocate for children and schools with elected officials, network with fellow PTA advocates and hear speakers. All WSPTA members are welcome. Bring your student with you!
Register for Focus Day today! The event is free. You can sign up for one of the Capitol tours (limited spaces on the tours) and order a boxed lunch (for an additional charge) when you register. BUS ROUTE CANCELATIONS
THIS Monday, January 8 through Friday, January 12, the following International School bus route(s) are canceled due to driver availability.
Route 53
No student pick‑ups will be available in both the A.M. and P.M. timeframes. Families impacted should plan alternate transportation for their students. All other bus routes servicing these schools will run normally as scheduled. Midday routes and activity routes for these canceled routes will run normally.

VOLUNTEER IN THE IS FRONT OFFICE
Ever wanted to get to know more of our amazing staff? Volunteering to work in the IS front office is a great way to meet people and feel involved with our community. There are currently three or four volunteer openings:
- Mondays: 12:15–3:15 PM, weekly or every other week
- Thursdays: 11:30 AM–1:30 PM, every other week only
- Thursdays: 1:30–3:30 PM, every other week only

BITE OF IS
Wednesday, February 7 at 6 PM
Join us for the Bite of IS, an annual multicultural potluck in the International School Gym! Contribute a dish reflecting your culture or perform a cultural act. Booth sign-ups are open till January 26. Proceeds support The Hunger Project, addressing hunger and poverty globally.
How to Participate:
- Booths: Host one individually, with a club, or as a family. Contribute to the Bite of IS Cookbook!
- Performances: Showcase your ethnic background through dance, song, etc. Solo or group performances welcome.

IS RED CROSS CLUB BLOOD DRIVE
Save the date: Wednesday, March 6
The IS Red Cross Club will be holding a blood drive on Wednesday, March 6 from 1:30–7:00 PM in the IS Library. Students who are 16 or older, parents, and community members are all encouraged to participate. Information on how to sign up will be sent out in February. Questions? Contact Julie Reeder.

JOIN THE IS INVESTMENT CLUB!
Have you ever wanted to make money while you sleep? If so, come join IS's Investment Club interest meeting! Whether you're a curious beginner or a seasoned trader, this club has something for everyone, even if you don't know anything about finance. The purpose of this club is to bring people together at the school to learn about the importance of investments and financial literacy. Our primary focus is to teach the students of IS the fundamentals and importance of investing, as well as managing personal finances early on in life to maximize their benefits later on.
Meeting Details:

TRANSPORTATION UPDATES AVAILABLE THROUGH EDULOG PARENT PORTAL
Beginning in January, all BSD bus cancellations, delays, and updates will be shared directly through the Edulog Parent Portal, the district’s transportation information platform. Families who would like to receive notification about impacts to their bus routes must sign up for Edulog. Specific route cancellations, delays, and updates will not be shared routinely through direct district emails, text messages, robo calls, or social media in the new year. BELLEVUE YOUTH THEATRE AUDITIONS
The Bellevue Youth Theatre provides inclusive recreational programs for youth ages 5-19, with a focus on teen participants. Persons with disabilities, families, and older adults are encouraged to participate. The emphasis of the theatre is to build self-esteem, teamwork, and confidence in youth while performing in a supportive environment. The Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink returns for its 26th year to the picturesque Bellevue Downtown Park NOW through January 15!
