The Head - Board Chair Relationship

The 2018 NAIS Governance Survey shows that both Heads ( 83%) and Board Chairs (89%) rate their Head-Board Chair relationship as very strong or extremely strong. That's pretty good news! What was also interesting is the differences between their perceived top responsibilities of the Head of School. The above chart indicates those differences. To insure a solid Board Chair - Head relationship, it would be a good idea to make sure that you and your Head of School are on the same page as to the Head's top priorities!
