Our ISCPA Advocacy Page is a great place to start if you are interested in what's going on at the Capitol. There are a lot of interesting bills being introduced, especially relating to property tax. If you are interested, you can watch/listen via Public TV. All committee meetings are streamed, but two favorites are House Revenue & Taxation and Senate Local Government & Taxation . You can even download the archives . And then - contact your legislator - your opinion DOES matter, so share it! You can even give remote testimony on a bill. Give me a call if you need help ~ LL
Don't Forget - Our 2020 Need to Know page on the idcpa.org website is real-time news and information you should keep up on, including ISCPA Member alerts, bulletins and updates.
Creating Resiliency & Self Care
Last Friday at the ISCPA Lunch Series, we had a great speaker talking about resiliency and how self care is a necessity. It made me think about tax season starting and month-end looming... and what you can do to stay healthy, both physically and mentally. Here are some tips that I took from that great CPE opportunity.
Pause for Purple
A visual cue is a great way to remind yourself to slow down and take a few deep breaths.

At St. Luke’s, they have placed purple dots around the hospital to remind employees to pause.

Take three deep breaths- it’s proven to help you relax.
Self Care
Taking a 5 minute break from your desk after working 60-90 minutes results in increased work productivity throughout the day.

Another option is positively reinforcing your goals by changing your password...
