ASTROLOGY FORECAST
(Nov 17 - 24)
There is a meteor shower active right now. The Leonids theatrical run is from 11/6 through 11/30 with performances peaking around 11/18. Constellation Leo arises in the east around 11 pm here in New York. As with all showers, the peak activity is in the hours before dawn, beginning around 3 am.
The most meteors will be visible if you do not look directly at the stars of Leo, but look approximately 30° above them in the sky. In this case you will look toward the stars of Ursa Major (Big Dipper.)
Asteroid PALLAS moves into Scorpio on 11/19 until 2/2/24. Pallas is associated with keen, strategic intelligence. In Scorpio this is likely to also have a high level of intensity to it. This may very well serve as a catalyst for events and decisions, particularly as a conjunction is formed with star ANTARES, called the “Heart of the Scorpion.” This conjunction takes place approximately 1/3rd of the way through the transit dates.
ANTARES is one of the Persian Royal Stars. It is associated with your emotions and your shadows. The “Heart of the Scorpion” helps you face, accept, and ultimately transform your shadow aspects. Courage and emotional wisdom may be found with ANTARES.
Previously we have tended to ignore, dismiss, and disown the shadow aspects. Now is the time to accept all parts of our creation to the best of our ability. Our best chance to heal is now. ANTARES can best assist, perhaps, if you remember the “Heart” connection.
ANTARES is part of the sacred soul journey. It might be helpful to think of the assistance as a cleansing/transforming step to take just before the SUN approaches the galactic center in neighboring Sagittarius.
The SUN moves into Sagittarius on 11/22. I mentioned the black and white holes and the star clusters in Sagittarius last week. Let us also review what I wrote about this sign last year;
“Sagittarius is a mutable sign with fire as its element. The traits are expansiveness, interest in travel, animals, outdoor activities and the love of freedom. Intellect in higher pursuits is valued. The ruling planet of Jupiter lends great abundance and good fortune. The glyph is the arrow aiming for higher ideals.
The symbol of Sagittarius is a
Centaur. The common term is to call him the Archer. The old mythology of the Centaur is not positive. It does not suit the rest of the characteristics associated with Sagittarius. Let us update this somewhat. The mythological blend of a human with a species of animal that has agreed to work with us and allow a close relationship between us is suggestive of a renewed goal to return humans to a valued relationship with the kingdom of nature. The powerful, majestic horse is the animal volunteering to assist. The human/horse Centaur is offering a new partnership, pointing that arrow of high ideals back to a cooperative whole with our natural world.
One of the interesting features of the constellation, Sagittarius, is a distinct, easily identifiable teapot shape. It looks more like a teapot that is pouring out an elixir/drink to share than it resembles a horse.
The time is right, the brew is ready to drink a symbolic toast to a new day. May a renewed value of cooperation and creativity take root, utilizing all of the rich variety offered by life here on Earth.”
As mentioned in a recent column, Sagittarius is at the galactic center of the Milky Way Galaxy. It is a cosmic portal, or Stargate.
This zodiac sign assists an affinity with all animals. You may reach new levels of communication and understanding with all animals that share our planet during a Sagittarius transit.
One other interesting connection is that the South Node of the Moon is exalted in Sagittarius whose upbeat, hopeful qualities can be wonderful in bringing out the best abilities you have brought with you from your soul to develop and utilize in this lifetime.
MARS moves into Sagittarius on 11/24 until 1/4/24. Mars will be conjunct the Sun while it begins the journey through Sagittarius this year. You will most likely feel great vitality and courage. Fire energy will be off the scale. A caution is to manage all of that strength. Try to avoid getting burned while you engage in your adventures.
We return to an aspect you have some experience with this year. A YOD formation is also in the sky on 11/24. This one involves VENUS in Libra sextile MERCURY in Sagittarius. The apex planet is URANUS in Taurus. This YOD forms around the SUN/MARS conjunction. WOW - that is a great deal of power emanating from this formation! URANUS adds unpredictability to anything that may develop.
Expect great things. There is every reason to expect some dreams to come true and to see some developments that might have seemed far fetched. Invite your Godspeed to come in, the speed of LOVE!
(Nov 25 - 30)
Asteroid CERES, which has actually been classified as a dwarf planet, moves into Sagittarius on 11/25 until 2/7/24. This energy combines intellect and adventure with nurturing. Those things may not seem to mesh very well together at first glance, but the Sagittarius arrow aiming high may show itself as assistance in bringing your greatest gifts out to share with the world. Your best serves to nurture everyone in ways you may never be aware of.
Specifically, it may inspire teaching through storytelling. The written and spoken word is eloquent with this combination. Ceres encourages adventure and knowledge not only for their own sakes, but also with the goal of discerning better ways to care for the self and others. Don't be afraid to use your imagination during this transit.
The FULL MOON in Gemini is on 11/27 at 4:17 am EST. The Moon in Gemini joins the emotions with the quick wit and friendliness of this air sign. Your interests may suddenly broaden. Gemini is interested in everything.
Opposite the Moon there is a conjunction of planets and asteroids in Sagittarius. The SUN, MARS, and CERES are conjunct. Both the Sun and Moon are at 4° of Sagittarius and Gemini. This is a critical degree for both. That makes them more powerful.
There is also a stellium in Sagittarius with the SUN, MARS, CERES, MERCURY, and PSYCHE. This will add to the influence of a positive, adventurous sign.
As with any Full Moon, it is an excellent time to bring something to fruition that you have wanted.
There are two wedges in the sky that day. Wedges form a right triangle. Two planets are opposite each other and both are square to an apex planet. This can add some tension and challenge to any situation.
But there is also a Grand Earth Trine present. Lilith in Virgo, Pluto in Capricorn, and Uranus in Taurus. The various aspects of the planets balance each other out quite well. The Trine between Pluto and Uranus is a long lasting one since both planets move slowly in their outer orbits.
For those of us living in the northern hemisphere, this Full Moon may be helpful in beginning our next venture.
Winter is beginning, which is a time of contemplation for most of us. Whether it is natural or not, most of us go by the Gregorian calendar. That means Sagittarius comes around toward year's end and also for much of the holiday season.
Let us go back to the combination of CERES and Sagittarius. The sign of the Centaur may allow us a much more benevolent view of ourselves and each other. It is possible that this time of year may be less stressful than it usually is with the support of Ceres.
The natural introspection that comes at this time of year has another element now. I am thinking of Ceres in Sagittarius at the same time that PLUTO is back in the 29th degree of Capricorn. This will be next month and into January. You may wish to be open to this combination of energies now, in the days leading up to the transit. Pluto in the last degree of Capricorn is wrapping up a long transit where we have been face to face with our shadows, or conversely, avoiding them at all costs!
CERES is a really good planet to add to your consideration. It is in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Motherhood and nurturing is the predominant energy. That is a bit lacking in the planets we usually associate with the zodiac. Who can't use more nurturing for these challenging Earth lives? Just remember that Pluto is just as much about redemption as it is about the shadows and judging.
By adding Ceres to your consideration this helps you to be receptive to another energy that cares about you in the early years of the Aquarian Age.
