ASTROLOGY FORECAST
(Sept 17 - 22)
This is a rare week when there is not a lot of change in movement in the signs and planets. Therefore, I am going to tell you a story this week. There is a connection to Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus that I will attempt to draw for you.
You will recall that I have discussed expanding the qualities and energies of the signs and planets to include more interpretations. In Taurus I have encouraged you all to include the Cow in addition to the Bull as a symbol. There are several reasons why I say this that draw from my direct experience. Please relax and feel the nurturing energy of my story. I think you will find value in it even if you have eliminated dairy from your diet.
Both my husband, Doug, and I are 3rd generation Dairy farmers. We worked in small herds with a great deal of interaction with our animals. I want to paint a picture of milking time on a small dairy farm during the years we participated.
Most often, the work was done by family members. Sometimes the same people who started in the early morning hours and worked in the fields during the day would be the same ones who finished the day with the evening milking. The days were spent doing everything you could to give your cattle a comfortable, happy life. If you did that well you could hope to have a successful business that supported the needs of the humans involved.
Fatigue was common because of the heavy workload. You could stumble into the barn with barely enough energy to keep going. This was when the cows gave back in an incredible way that most people cannot know.
Cows are very happy, peaceful animals. They are intensely curious about the world around them. They are also incredible mothers, with few exceptions. Contented, is the most appropriate description of their personalities. They are very friendly and cooperative with people if treated well, which is absolutely necessary because they are much too big and powerful to interact with if it is not their wish.
More than any other time, milking hours can be a source of nurturing, mothering, and peace. Why might that be the case?
The catalytic action is through the hormone oxytocin. Also known as the LOVE hormone. It is the hormone that relaxes muscle tissue during lactation and the birthing process, and during any kind of cuddling. The release of milk is accomplished through a swell of oxytocin in the cow's body. Since energy really does not know boundaries, what happened was that the relaxing, mothering feeling permeated the entire interior of the building. The peaceful atmosphere was tangible.
During milking we laid our hands on the animal's bodies, pet their heads, and talked to them as we worked our way along the stall row. There was friendship, love, and mutual appreciation between us. Once they were done milking most of them would lay down and ruminate, which released alpha waves and endorphins that were so powerful they replaced the cow's need for sleep.
We often remarked that milking was the most relaxing thing we did all day! Many a farmer admitted to falling asleep while leaning up against a cow during milking!
As if this wasn't enough, there was another endearing thing that could happen. At any given time a majority percentage of the cows are in various stages of pregnancy. Their calves responded to the release of oxytocin. The calves that were later in the gestation would sometimes start kicking. You could see the cow's belly jump and roll. If you were lucky the kicks would be felt on the side of your head or shoulder as you knelt near the cow's flank. This was wonderful.
They were once referred to as the foster mothers of the human race. My belief is that this energy is present in the products made from the milk, in the ground that the cows walked upon, and in the air as well.
How does this apply to Taurus, Venus, Jupiter, and Uranus? Taurus is associated with Earth, and has the Royal star Aldebaran in the constellation, which is the Bull's eye. This is also the location of one of the cosmic Points of Avatar, or portals. Venus and Jupiter are the two most benefic planets. Venus rules Taurus and Jupiter is in its Taurus transit now. Uranus has been in Taurus for a while and will remain until 2026. I think that collection of energies would be greatly enhanced with the addition of the traits I've described above.
I will finish with one last point just for fun. I think we have all heard the criticism concerning cows and global warming. There are even sentiments that they don't deserve to live on planet Earth. In response I recommend that the data about air pollution during the pandemic be studied. Look at pictures of the air over the world's cities once we stopped driving, flying, and factories shut down. Then tell me it's the cow's fault… In the spirit of good humor I wrote this poem last year:
GLOBAL WARMING IS ALL THE COW'S FAULT!
The culprit is Bessie the cow.
She eats and she belches, and how!
Global warming is all her fault.
She better just skid to a halt!
She was once the human's Mother.
Now, just a big gassy bother.
She was here long before we were.
But now our fates are placed on her!
So we blame her for all our trouble.
She better shape up on the double.
Then we can go on polluting.
With billions of us colluding.
With Bessie gone we rest easy.
The future looks bright and breezy.
So what must we do when we know.
If we say that Bessie must go?
To decide that no one's to blame.
For Bessie's extinct , what a shame.
If we had only understood.
That she represents Motherhood!
So contented and kind is she.
Let's keep her for eternity!
Alas, there is still enough time.
To acquit Bessie of the crime.
So eat ice cream and dream cozy.
While Bessie eats grass and moseys.
Happily enjoying the posies.
So let blaming Bessie be done.
We outnumber her 8 to 1!
Let her stay. Don't drive her away.
Let reason and sanity hold sway!

(Sept 23 - 30)
There is a transit beginning now that will be in effect for the next 6 months. This is the transit of LILITH into Virgo and back into Leo.
Black Moon Lilith is a measurement of the Moon's point of apogee, or the point where the Moon is at the farthest distance from the Earth in its orbit. That is the scientific explanation for the "dark" interpretation. The prevailing patriarchal nature of the previous ages also encouraged a negative focus on Lilith. She has been bestowed with many undesirable and aggressive traits. Let us examine this with new focus.
What if she is simply part of our essential nature and the necessary balance that we all will benefit from if we find it? A female who demands sovereignty, equality, and is willing and able to stand up for her rightful place and respect, is not dark or evil. When those same traits are presented as male energy, they are admired. Lilith helps us seek balance.
The transit of Lilith is a shuffling/sifting energy that can be erratic. There is a shuffling back and forth between two signs. It is easier to understand if you picture the mixing of water at the ocean shores. The churning action of incoming and outgoing waves is a constant. You can become accustomed to it. It can even be a great place to play! What is meant to come to the surface will present itself.
The theme of Lilith in Virgo may likely involve detail and overt criticism. Virgo is a mental Earth sign. The fight, flight, or freeze reaction may be stimulated by this strong inner voice that wants to be heard.
This transit may involve increased activity of the amygdala in the limbic brain. It is the amygdala's function to keep you safe, but it mostly works with past energy patterns brought forward into the present moment. It does not adjust easily to changes in thought. It lags behind. So it may bombard your mind with endless "yeah, buts" as you try to work with suppressed imbalances involving the male/female balance within your psyche. It may also present as overly critical of the self and others. You can be alert to these tendencies and find balance in expression that will release a lot of tension if you can find a still point within the shifting mental energies.
During this 6 month time frame Lilith will be shifting between analytical Virgo and fiery, powerful Leo. Do your best to address what is presented to you. Continued suppression will only delay the inevitable.
Bear in mind, that does not mean that everything that comes up requires a great deal of attention. Some of it may simply require that you release it back to the annals of the akashic records. It may belong to other parallel realities and belong more to ancestral DNA than to you in the present. Remembering that the point of power is in the present, you can move forward into a new creative time unburdened by past imbalances.
The Autumnal Equinox falls at 2:50 am EST on 9/23. This is the astronomical point when the SUN is directly over the equator. It is also the intersection point between the Solar ecliptic path and the celestial equator.
This officially marks the beginning of harvest season. It symbolizes the demarcation between growth and harvest. It begins a season of appreciation for the bounty of our endeavors, be they material, mental, or emotional in nature. Our cultures have blended the activities of the seasons together to a great extent. Perhaps it is useful to mirror nature in this respect. Autumn is a season of appreciation for all of the bounty of our lives.
The SUN moves into Libra at the point of the equinox. Libra is an Air sign of balance, fairness and justice. It is aspirational and inspirational in nature. It is a Cardinal sign of action. The best expression of Libra energies may have to employ patience as the sought for balance comes about. Cooperation, compromise, and collaboration is sometimes resisted a great deal at this changing of the ages. Allow the innate grace of Libra to assist you.
MARS and PALLAS are also in Libra for most of the Sun's transit creating a Stellium. Pallas and the Sun together are a formidable combination. Together they have a positive effect on Mars.
The SUN, MOON, MERCURY, and PALLAS will be together in Libra next month when the Solar Eclipse happens on 10/14. This next 3 weeks will be a potent time for preparation and progress. It is worth your time to examine what planets and houses are in, or aspected to, Libra in your natal chart.
Finishing September is the FULL MOON in Aries at 6°on 9/29 at 5:57 am EST. The power of the Moon is formidable here with the full reflected light of the Sun illuminating the Moon at the beginning of the Zodiac. The considerable Aries energy exhibits a good amount of courage and confidence.
October has 2 Eclipses this year. The harvest season will have added potency. You may wish to spend some time deciding how you will move ahead with your soul growth in preparation. May it help you find your Godspeed.
