A term you will find helpful when discussing and viewing planetary and zodiacal constellations is the ECLIPTIC. The ECLIPTIC is the path that the Sun, planets, and zodiacal constellations travel as they traverse our sky.  For our northern hemisphere at this time of year, that is from the east moving relatively low in the sky toward the south, then setting in the west. This is usually a different path than the Milky Way. The exception is Gemini on one end and Sagittarius on the other, that are both found crossing the Milky Way.

The dark, clear skies of November afford us some of the best star viewing of the year. We are also treated to two meteor showers overlapping each other. 

The Northern Taurids shower peaks on Nov 10-12th. The shower originates from the Taurus constellation. That is visible in the east, moving toward the  southeast along the ecliptic from dusk until it sets in the west at dawn. A peak of "fireballs" is expected in 2022. These are meteors that explode when they hit our upper atmosphere. If you are ever lucky enough to see one you will never forget it! 

The Leonids shower peaks on Nov 17-18th. This will appear to come right out of the eastern horizon early in the evening as the Leo constellation is still below the horizon until around 11pm. The meteor activity is best late at night.

I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the night sky. Its dance and rhythm will speak to you in both conscious and unconscious ways. Your worldview will expand. Your ability to use the science and art of astrology will reach a new level. This is an area where science and spirituality is alive and dynamic in an easily visible relationship. 

Stretching your experience to Constellation Astrology will become easier the more familiar you become with the sky map. This is when you pay particular attention to where your eyes tend to go when you look at the stars. It also is useful when particular constellations are visible in your local sky. You communicate directly with that constellation, or corridor, of the sky. This also helps when astrology expands beyond the planets to include asteroids, exoplanets, dwarf planets, and fixed stars.

A wonderful app that I find helpful is Star Walk 2. It is full of information and is very inexpensive. Another resource that you may enjoy is (earthsky.org). They show the transmissions coming from the Webb telescope, among many other things of interest in astronomy. (This week the newsletter couldn't be more local. It features a reader submitted picture of a large flock of geese flying over Franklin mountain overlooking Oneonta, NY. They showed the satellite view as well as the photo!)

ASTROLOGY FORECAST (Nov 9-18)

VENUS and MERCURY travel together from Scorpio into Sagittarius on the 17th and 18th. The two personal planets are in a close conjunction (1-3°) throughout November. A conjunction between these two personal planets during, and right after, the eclipse season is particularly helpful. What is more, they stay in conjunction until the first few days of Jan 2023. 

There is a unique opportunity to combine your mental and emotional activities in a new healthy creation. You may be able to ease into a new compatibility in areas that were in conflict with each other previously. Great GRACE is possible with this combination.

Both Mercury and Venus in Sagittarius can show up as extreme, so caution in choices is appropriate. If the balance created by the planetary conjunction is achieved, the potential is quite dynamic.

Sagittarius is a fire sign that is ruled by Jupiter. Its quality is mutable (adaptable,  flexible.) Freedom of ideas, exploration,  and expression are sought with enthusiasm. The symbol, the archer, is looking toward the higher ideals. This is significant when searching for your own path into a new paradigm, which is the historical time we are living in.  Searching elsewhere so exclusively that you miss the value of the present moment is a good caution to keep in mind. We will explore Sagittarius more in the next few weeks. 

I will close this week by sharing this photo of a rainbow taken on the afternoon before the Solar eclipse. BOTH ends came down in my fields. What a lovely omen!
