Oneonta Chapter
A Metaphysical Church and School for Spiritual Development
“The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.”

We were saddened to learn of the passing of a dear member of our ISD family, Barbara Hosier, on January 26.

Barb was a dedicated volunteer for ISD, always ready to offer up her help, her home, and her heart to our community. She joined us in many classes and circles and her dedication to ISD Oneonta was so appreciated.

Please join us in sending prayers and love to her daughters, Connie Lull and Sherry Barton. May they feel our hearts holding theirs in their grief.

And we thank you Barb for allowing us to be a part of your journey. Sending our love on a star-beam right to you!

You would know the secret of death.
But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?
The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day
cannot unveil the mystery of light.
If you would indeed behold the spirit of death,
open your heart wide unto the body of life.
For life and death are one,
even as the river and the sea are one.
In the depth of your hopes and desires
lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like the seeds dreaming beneath the snow
your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams,
for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.
Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd
when he stands before the king whose hand
is to be laid upon him in honour.
Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling,
that he shall wear the mark of the king?
Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind
and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing,
but to free the breath from its restless tides,
that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence
shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top,
then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs,
then shall you truly dance.

Allowing Abundance
Next circle Tuesday February 23rd
This circle, facilitated by Elke Saal, will meet monthly on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
Based on the Abraham Hicks teachings and using principles of intention we will deepen our understanding of allowing abundance into our lives. As “Like attracts Like” we need to feel what we desire emotionally before it can manifest into the reality that we prefer. We will strengthen our intentions for abundance with the support of the group energy field.

Bird Of Hope by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Soar not too high, O bird of Hope!
Because the skies are fair;
The tempest may come on apace
And overcome thee there.

When far above the mountain tops
Thou soarest, over all –
If, then, the storm should press thee back,
How great would be thy fall!

And thou wouldst lie here at my feet,
A poor and lifeless thing, -
A torn and bleeding birdling,
With limp and broken wing.

Sing not too loud, O bird of Hope!
Because the day is bright;
The sunshine cannot always last –
The morn precedes the night.

And if thy song is of the day,
Then when the day grows dim,
Forlorn and voiceless thou wouldst sit
Among the shadows grim.

Oh! I would have thee soar and sing,
But not too high, or loud,
Remembering that day meets night –
The brilliant sun the cloud.

And the Good News Is!!!!!

  • Did you catch the beautiful full moon this morning? Check out This article from MSN.com that talks about the Wolf Moon that shines beginning tonight. Additionally, the article gives dates for all of the 2021 full moons, meteor showers, and when and how each planet will be visible this year.

  • Do you know what blue jets, elves, and sprites are? Apparently, these are terms for three different dazzling light discharges that happen above storm clouds, when we see a lightning strike on earth. Read This interesting article from the BBC which tells us about blue space lightening being recently spotted from the International Space Station. These ‘Blue Jets' are bolts of lightening that shoot upwards from storm clouds and the video footage is amazing.

  • Astronomers have located a 10 billion year old ‘Super-Earth’ in our galaxy. This Forbes.com article details this find that could profoundly alter the search for intelligent life in our Universe. The planet, TOI-561b, is about 280 light years away, a third bigger than earth and about three times its mass.

The below links will remain here so that you will easily be able to find them if you have a need:

Got Bottles & Cans to return?

ISD has a CLYNK account at Hannaford in Oneonta.

How can I help?

Email Tom Landon at tlfandon51@gmail.com and he will give you a time to pick up stickers at our new ISD headquarters.
Take one to put on each bag that you are bringing to Hannaford- Ask someone there where the bags go. With that correct tag on it, the bottle deposit money goes directly into the ISD Oneonta Account.

Just a reminder that we are continuing our Prayer Warriors group, every day at 5pm we pause to pray and send our healing energies where they are most needed right now

You do not have to be present each day. Requests for healing or suggestions should be submitted to our Healing Program director, Jo Ann Wormuth at the below ISD website link:
