ISEA has added an additional Qualified Safety Sales Professional (QSSP) class in 2017, to meet the growing number of safety sales professionals seeking to become QSSPs. The new class will be held on October 9-13, and will provide 40 additional enrollment slots to safety sales and marketing professionals interested in taking the popular QSSP program.

While MIOSHA officials struggle to explain the 48 percent spike in Michigan workplace 
fatalities in one year, some national safety experts say the state could do more to reduce the deaths.

 
"They said, well by time we get out there it'll probably be all taken care of, and we 
don't have the manpower to work on every complaint we receive."

 
OSHA outlined employer responsibilities for keeping young workers safe, noting, 
"Young workers are those new to the workforce, even up to age 24. Young workers can 
be an asset to your workforce. However, it may be their first job or the first time they are 
operating equipment."
