OSHA found that Altamont Ambulance -- which does business as Effingham City-County Ambulance in the city of Effingham -- violated a number of standards related to the 
protection of employees from injury and illness.



OSHA Philadelphia Area Office Director Nicholas DeJesse said that if the dead or 
injured workers' employers would have provided adequate fall protection, the accidents 
could have been avoided.


Starting next month, companies found to be in violation of workplace safety rules in 
the United States will face fines nearly double what they would have paid previously.


"This funding will enable educational, governmental, and industry organizations across 
the country to develop training resources and train miners in an effort to ensure they 
return home - safe and healthy - after every shift," Joseph A. Main, assistant secretary 
of labor for mine safety and health, says in a press release.
