distribution companies in North America for 2016 in 14 sectors, including industrial

and electrical. MDM has also identified trends for each sector, as well as the industry

Airgas Announces Acquisition of Monroe Welding Supply and Clark Industrial Supply

Airgas announced that it has recently acquired the assets and operations of Monroe Welding Supply, Inc. and Clark Industrial Supply, Inc., both effective June 1, 2016. Airgas has

completed 22 acquisitions since June 1, 2015.

Potential Microbial Exposure Risks from Eyewash Stations Meant to Protect Workers

Safety 2016: OSHA Chief Emphasizes Employer Engagement in Safety

Much of David Michaels's presentation focused on the agency's efforts to engage more

employers in safety efforts through a variety of channels.

NIOSH's Howard: 'Plenty to Do' on Workplace Issues

NIOSH Director Dr. John Howard listed four key areas where the agency's working to

have an impact and summed up his answer this way: "There's plenty to do."

Study Underway to Determine Impact of Training Fires on Crews (UL)

"We are here to understand how the training environment really impacts firefighters," UL

Director Steve Kerber said. "This will help us produce adequately equipped firefighters

who can use the proper tools to get the job done."

Construction Contractor Faces Manslaughter Charge in Worker's Death

The victim was one of eight New York City construction workers to die from falls in 2015.

Reducing Oil and Gas Workers Exposure to Vapors

A Monday morning session will explore hazards associated with hydrocarbon vapors

and gases in the upstream onshore oil & gas industry identifying common tasks with

potential for exposure. The focus will be on control measures, safe work practices, air

monitoring procedures and PPE requirements.
