Voices of Justice: Islam’s Legacy of Speaking Truth

Our winter camps are back and registration is open!

We want youth to rediscover the rich tradition of justice and advocacy rooted in our faith. Voices of Justice will explore how speaking truth to power has always been a part of Islam, beginning with the prophets and continuing through generations of courageous believers. From the defiance of Prophet Musa AS before Pharaoh, to Bilal RA's stand for racial equality, to the compassionate governance of Umar ibn al-Khattab RA, and the economic leadership of Khadijah RA, our history is filled with those who rose against oppression. We want to connect these legacies to modern-day icons like Malcolm X and Sheikh Omar Mukhtar, empowering youth to see justice not as a trend, but as a sacred inheritance.

Join us this winter for an unforgettable week as we delve into this amazing theme!

Trump’s ‘Peace Plan’ Meets Skepticism

By Islamic Horizons Editors

On Oct. 8, President Donald Trump announced Israel and Hamas have signed off on the first phase of a new “Peace Plan.”

“This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line,” he wrote in a post on Truth Social.

As Israeli troops withdrew from Gaza, Palestinians returned to their devastated homes, Palestinian journalist Bizan Owda reported on an Instagram Reel. “These are the holy scenes that they tried to delete when they forced us – when they tortured us – to flee our homes in the North,” she said. “But they failed. This is the second return.”...

Addressing Infertility Through Islamic Bioethics

Navigating Biomedical Realities while Holding on to Divine Decree

In Islam, the family unit is the cornerstone of a stable society, with Quranic verses (49:13, 42:49-50, 58:2) and Prophetic traditions emphasizing the responsibilities of family life. For example, in the Hadith, marriage is described as half of one’s religion and mothers are afforded immense honor, with paradise described as lying beneath their feet. Thus, for many Muslims, the journey to parenthood is not only a natural aspiration but an emotional pursuit of Islamic values. Nonetheless, Islamic teachings acknowledge that not everyone will be granted children as part of God’s divine wisdom...

When Harvard University released over 500 pages of findings from its Presidential Task Force on Combating Antisemitism and Anti-Israeli Bias, and its Presidential Task Force on Combating Anti-Muslim, Anti-Arab, and Anti-Palestinian Bias on April 29, it billed them as a comprehensive reckoning. But the reports reveal something else: an institutional double standard in how Harvard defines harm, assigns blame, and recommends reform....

State media institutions maintain narrow parameters of discourse to control the dissemination of information, preserve state power, and ultimately, to maintain the status quo. In the United States, for example, there are no communist columnists at The New York Times suggesting a wholesale redistribution of national wealth and an end to state corporatocracy. The powerful political and monied interests of the U.S. prevent such voices from finding a mainstream outlet, and therefore, they are suppressed or silenced altogether...
