The celebration brought together an inspiring group of dignitaries, goodwill ambassadors, religious leaders, and distinguished guests from around the world.

Another Camp in the Books 🌅🛶
This past week, our youth traded screens for sunsets and came home with something screens can’t give them, real connection. From canoeing into golden hour to gathering under the stars each evening, these campers built memories that’ll last a life time.
Between the laughter on the water and the friendships that grew stronger with every activity, this camp cycle was a reminder of how much our community thrives when we slow down and show up for one another.
To every parent who packed a bag and sent your teen off for the week, thank you for trusting us with them. Alhamdulillah for a beautiful week and a community that keeps getting stronger. We can’t wait for the next one. Stay tuned for winter camp registration opening soon inshallah!

The Exemplary Life of Emir Abd al-Qadir al-Jazairy
Children, their parents and educators will be captivated by the inspiring life story of one of the world's noblest and most exemplary leaders. In this book for children, Emir Abd al-Qadir describes his own childhood and education, growing up in the Algerian Sahara. Later, when the French army invaded his country, the people chose him to defend their lands and lives. His enormous restraint on the battlefield, courage, integrity, selflessness and compassion even toward the enemy serve as a beautiful reminder that even under extraordinarily dreadful circumstances, such as war, it is possible to live up to the highest standards of human dignity, respect for others and innate goodness.
After signing a truce to relieve his people's suffering, the Emir was exiled by the French to Syria, where his inner spiritual and saintly life was nourished. Later, in Damascus, when a terrible riot broke out, this revered Muslim figure took Christian and Jewish families, as well as the French, into his own home to protect them.
Many films and books have been made about Emir Abd al-Qadir's exemplary life, and he became internationally recognized during his lifetime. This story clearly illustrates the kind of person we should all strive to become, strikingly enhanced by the exquisite illustrations of the renowned artist Demi.
About the Illustrator
Demi came from a long line of famous Boston artists, including her mother and grandfather. Her great-grand-uncle, Richard Morris Hunt, founded and directed the American Institute of Architects and designed the base of the Statue of Liberty and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
A Fulbright Scholar, Demi is the award-winning author of over 300 bestselling children’s books, including Jesus, Al-Ghazali, Rumi, Muhammad, Cyrus the Great, The Psalms of David, and Saint Francis of Assisi. Her books have sold over five million copies. Gandhi and The Nightingale were named New York Times Best Illustrated Books, and her work has been exhibited in numerous museums across the United States.
