Hello ISNP Upper Campus Families,

I hope everyone has had a great holiday weekend thus far! We are very thankful that the ISNP campus had no damage from Hurricane Idalia last week, and I hope that none of you suffered any damages. Students will not need to make up the days missed due to the hurricane because we have extra instructional time built into our schedule that will cover those days. However, some FAST assessments have been rescheduled as have other events from last week. Please check the Mark Your Calendar and Testing sections below for updates.

We have an exciting week of events ahead of us. There are

numerous games, club meetings and other activities, so be sure to read the

details below and plan to get involved! Have a great week!

FAST Testing Information

ISNP students will continue to participate in the ELA Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) this week. Please see below for which dates your child will take the assessment. Your child's results will be available after all FAST testing is completed. If you have any questions about the FAST, please contact Mrs. Char Tollar, ISNP Upper Campus Testing Coordinator, at char.tollar@imaginenorthport.com.

  • 7th grade FAST Math assessment on September 5, 2023
  • 6th grade FAST Math assessment on September 6, 2023
  • High School FAST ELA Make-ups assessment on September 7, 2023
  • Middle School FAST ELA Make-ups assessment on September 8, 2023

Please see the letter here that provides more detailed information regarding these exams. The administration period for these exams is very short. It is important that your child is present on the day of his or her exams. Absences from state-issued tests require make-up exam periods that are extremely challenging to schedule. Please assist us by ensuring your child is present and on time on testing day.

Cross Country

On Monday, August 28, the ISNP Cross Country Sharks had their first official meet of the season. Cayne Roser had a personal best, finishing his 5K in 19:41. He is only 33 seconds away from breaking the school record. Congratulations Cayne and all who participated!

Register To Vote - Earn Money!

Staff from the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections office will be on-site to register students to vote and recruit student poll workers on Wednesday, September 6, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Students 18 and older are eligible to register to vote and 16 and 17-year-olds can pre-register to vote.

Any registered or pre-registered voter can apply to be a poll worker. In 2024, there will be three opportunities to work as a student poll worker, earning money and community service credits for every election worked! See the information below for what you need to bring to register and become a student poll worker. Don’t miss out!

School Lunches

Middle and high school breakfast cost $2.00, middle school lunch cost $3.00, and high school lunch is $3.25. The USDA did not renew the free meal waiver for the 23-24 School Year. As a result, families will need to complete a Meal Benefits Application to receive breakfast and lunch for free or at a reduced price. You can find more information about the lunch program on the flyer below and by following this link. If you need further assistance, please contact the Food and Nutrition Central Office at 941-486-2199.

IMPORTANT ISNP UPPER CAMPUS INFORMATIONAL LINKS

The last several newsletters have been packed with a great deal of information provided to assist everyone in having a successful start to the new school year. Throughout the year, you will continue to have access to this information in this section of every weekly newsletter. Each underlined item below provides a link.

Early Release Dates and General School Calendar

 School Hours and Attendance Policy

Additional information about building good habits for attendance can be found here.

ISNP Upper Campus Morning Arrival Map

Parents and children must remain in car line and inside their vehicle at all times. Please do not park and walk your student onto the campus or into the buildings. You can access a copy of the map for the morning car line by clicking on the link above. Gates between the cafeteria and 400 building are opened at 7:00 a.m. and parents may begin dropping off their students inside the gates at that time. Students with 1st period classes at the gym may also be dropped off in the gym car line between 7:45 a.m. and 8:10 a.m.

Students who eat a school provided breakfast will report directly to the cafeteria upon arrival. Students who arrive at, or after, 8:15 a.m. will report directly to their first period class.

ISNP Upper Campus Dismissal Map

Student dismissal will begin at 3:30 p.m. All students will be dismissed at this time. You can access a copy of the dismissal car line map by clicking the link above. There are two dismissal car lines, the cafeteria car line, and the gymnasium car line. The only students that may be picked up at the gymnasium are 6th grade students and students that have their last class of the day in the gymnasium.

Parents will line up along Sycamore Street approaching from Plantation Boulevard. If you have a student that qualifies for gym pick up, you will turn left into the gym parking lot at the gate closest to the athletic field. After picking up your student, you will continue to follow the flow of traffic out of the parking lot making a right-hand turn onto Sycamore Street.

If you do not have a sixth-grade student or a student who has eighth period class at the gym, you will follow traffic through the cafeteria car line. Parents will pick up students in grades 7 through 12 via this route if their student(s) have their last class of the day in the 200, 400, 500, 600, 700 or portable buildings. Please remember that traffic on Sycamore Street from the gym to the front office building is one way only.

Car line traffic is usually heaviest during the first few weeks of school, so please be patient and allow everyone to get used to the process. Expect afternoon pick up to take a little longer during the first few weeks. Please contact Mr. Tony Graham, Assistant Principal, for any questions regarding our arrival and dismissal procedures.

2023-2024 ISNP Student and Family Handbook
