ISO 45001:2018 - what does it take?

Most organizations have been focused on their compliance-based Occupational Health & Safety programs for many years. These programs include many elements of a safety management system:

1) Safety Objectives and Goals

2) Safety Performance Metrics

3) Job Hazard Assessments and Risk Assessments

4) Defined Safety Roles and Training Programs

5) Written Safety Programs

6) Emergency Actions Plans

7) Regular Reviews with Management

8) Regular Safety Committee Meetings

9) Defined Incident Investigation Process

So what is required for ISO 45001:2018 certification? In many cases not much.

If you already have a certified environmental or quality program, many of the "ISO" processes can be integrated with the safety requirements.

The following video provides a detailed overview of the ISO 45001:2018 standard and requirements.
