If you have a passion for helping others and want to learn more about the amazing work by the nonprofits in the community, we are seeking site visit volunteers to help with our 2020-21 Community Investment funding decisions. You will:
Review 5-7 funding applications, prior to visiting the agencies
Spend one day (more, if you like) with a small group of other volunteers and UWFK staff and board members, visiting the agencies whose applications you reviewed
Score those applications using an objective scoring rubric
An updated ALICE Report will be released in early March. Stay tuned for new insights into the Keys community.
Imagination Library is Expanding!
We are beyond excited to announce that, thanks to recent gifts from the Upper Keys Rotary Club,
Melissa and Don Wilson, Nancy Smith & Nancy Turner, Tom & Mary Jo Wilson, Geraldine Weir, and Bonnie Carl, we will be expanding Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to nearly 100 more children in the Keys!
This will mean up to 6,000 children's books delivered FREE each month to local homes over the next 5 years. This gift will help set these children up for a lifetime of success, thanks to the generosity of our community!
Supporter Spotlight: Publix
On September 6, 1930, Mr. George Jenkins opened his first store called Publix Food Store. A culture of community support and generosity has been fundamental to the company from the beginning. Since then, Publix has become the second largest United Way workplace campaign!
Thank you to Publix and the hundreds of local Publix associates. Congratulations on 40 years of partnership with United Way. Your generosity makes a tremendous difference in Monroe County. We are grateful.
