ISPE-CaSA Education and Events
Therapeutic Thursday Nov. 11 in Greenville, NC
Therapeutic Thursdays are back!

Make plans to visit Greenville, NC on Thursday, November 11 to enjoy drinks, appetizers and networking. The event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. We'll be at the Carolina Ale House, 704 S.E. Greenville Blvd.

Therapeutic Thursday is a great networking event in a relaxed setting. We offer a cash bar, and our generous sponsors provide appetizers.

Tracy Eames Leads Women in Pharma Career Development Workshop Nov. 12

ISPE-CaSA Women in Pharma invites you to a small-group Career Planning and Leadership Development Workshop on Friday, Nov. 12.
Tracy A. Eames, CEO of TEAMES & CO, a management consulting firm that helps growth minded executives achieve what's next for their company will facilitate the program.

The half-day workshop takes place at The Nest Co-Working Space in Raleigh starting at 9:30 a.m. Lunch and workshop materials are included in the $125 registration fee.

ISPE International Conference Highlights
CaSA Chapter Members at ISPE National Conference Celebrate Local Award Winners
Members of the ISPE-CaSA Chapter, including leadership attended the ISPE International Conference and Expo Oct. 31-Nov. 3.
Haley Durbin, a Manufacturing Systems & Compliance consultant with Sequence was recognized as a member of ISPE's Committee of the Year - the Emerging Leaders Virtual International Hackathon Committee.

Haley also chairs the ISPE-CaSA Chapter's Emerging Professionals Committee.

The award was part of the ISPE International Honor Awards programs, providing the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the dedicated professionals who are volunteering countless hours to support ISPE in its mission.

Another local ISPE International Honor Award recipient was Locus Biosciences, a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company, in Morrisville. Locus Biosciences received a Facility of the Year Honorable Mention award for its Commercial Phage Production Facility Upfit.
ISPE-CaSA President Chris Small enjoyed connecting with longtime colleagues, including other Chapters and Affiliates.

"The Conference was a great opportunity to connect and reconnect with colleagues that I hadn’t seen in over 2 years! It was also wonderful to work with the other Chapters, Affiliates, and International Board & Staff on the vision and growth of ISPE in the coming years," he said. "Being a part of an organization with industry leaders from around the US and even Internationally, being together in Boston, to work on a common goal was extremely invigorating."

CaSA Chapter Treasurer Alma Montemayor was enthusiastic about the conference too.

It was amazing to see so many clients, colleagues and friends in person at the ISPE International Conference last week," she said. "There was plenty of fellowship and revelry to be had that was so missed these last 18 months. I’m looking forward to next year when the conference will be held in Orlando, Florida."
Jane Brown Scholarship
Jane Brown Scholarship: Call for Applications
The ISPE-CaSA Chapter has established a scholarship to encourage students who seek a career in the life sciences industry. The ISPE-CaSA Jane Brown Scholarship will be awarded to one or more eligible CaSA Student Chapter members.
 
The scholarship is open to persons enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate field of study at an accredited university or college. See below for the link to the application form and the requirements for selection, along with instructions for submission of completed applications. 
 
Scholarship judges will be the directors of the CaSA ISPE Board who represent the following companies: Biogen, Eli Lilly, Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, Mayne Pharma, and Patheon.
 
Deadline for submissions: January 15, 2022.
 
Scholarship winner(s) will be announced at the 29th Annual Life Sciences Technology Conference, February 15, 2022, in Raleigh.
