Dear ISPE members,
With the pandemic continuing to take its course and the rising incidence of the new omicron variant, the ISPE Board of Directors has decided to cancel an in-person Mid-Year Meeting that was scheduled to be held on April 10-12, 2022, in Orlando, Florida. Although incidence rates of COVID-19 in Florida are currently quite low, we recognize that they are high in other regions, complicating travel plans. We have therefore decided to prioritize the safety of our members over the great and increasing desire to resume in-person meetings.
However, in place of an in-person meeting, our program committee has decided to develop a completely new virtual Mid-Year meeting agenda that will be focused on students and early-stage trainees. The Board, Strategic Planning Committee, and ICPE Scientific Program Committee meetings will be planned independently using established video conferencing platforms.
About our new Mid-Year Meeting Agenda for Student and Early-Stage Trainees:
Held in April (date TBD), our new Mid-Year Meeting agenda will include our usual oral presentation of research, job talks, round tables with employers, and panel sessions, and courses on training and skills for pharmacoepidemiologists. Abstract submissions for students and trainees will open next week. Stay tuned for a new and exciting program that promotes our new generation of pharmacoepidemiologists!
