After very careful consideration amid the Coronavirus outbreak, we have decided to host the 3rd International Smoke Symposium as 100% Virtual! The Virtual Conference will be held April 20-23, and all presentations will be recorded and available for up to one year.
We are cancelling the "in-person" portion in Raleigh, North Carolina and UC Davis, California.
We feel this is the best decision based on the current situation.
We had already planned to host ISS3 as a Hybrid Event, so we already have the virtual capabilities in place and are excited about the technology that will allow us to gather Virtually. We will assess the best approach to managing the panels and other interactive sessions! We've had success in the previous two symposiums with the virtual capability and have confidence we will be able to repeat this success with ISS3.
In addition, we are exploring the idea of hosting a mini Symposium in late September or early October in Raleigh, NC (more information coming soon).
We are still working through everything and will continue to update the webpage as things become more finalized.
All the presenters, both oral and poster, have been notified and were invited to present remotely. We will share guidelines to the presenters about the remote presentations and will have several practice sessions prior to the symposium.
Some of the Workshops will be presented remotely, we are working with the instructors and will update the webpage as each is confirmed.
If you have already registered, you will receive a separate email with details about how to switch to the Virtual Conference or request a credit for a future conference or a full refund. Please be patience with us as we begin to process refunds.
If you have not already registered, we encourage you to register for the Virtual Conference. We have reduced the price to the Early Bird Rate of $300; this rate will not increase. Reminder that you will have access to all presentations for up to one year after the ISS3.
