Dominic, Seahorse
Dominic is in the fourth grade and is ten years old. This is his first year at ISSAC. Dominic lives in Garden Grove with his family. Ava, his sister, says, “Dominic is a kind, loving person.” Over Winter Break, Dominic had the opportunity to visit Sky Zone and Knott’s Berry Farm.
This past year, he traveled with his baseball team, Hit Factory, to Florida, Arizona, Las Vegas, and Texas. Their record is 17–3. He plays every position, but his favorite is pitcher. He throws at a speed of 56 mph. Dominic’s favorite baseball player is Dodgers pitcher and designated hitter Shohei Ohtani because he considers him one of the best players in baseball right now and an MVP.
Dominic’s goals and ways he plans to make a positive impact this year include helping his parents with chores such as doing the dishes and laundry, earning straight A’s in school, and gaining more strength by eating protein. His top subjects are P.E. and Science, as he loves running around and participating in experiments like Elephant Toothpaste. Dominic appreciates that his teacher, Ms. Susie, helps him with whatever he may need.
Dominic describes himself as funny, motivating, and a team player. What Dominic appreciates about our school is that everyone is nice and that there are no bullies. Other top interests of Dominic’s are football and Math.
For his PBL goal, he chose to read one chapter book per week, which he successfully achieved. His favorite book is The Warrior Kid because it teaches the lesson to never give up, no matter what. For high school, Dominic is considering Bosco or Mater Dei. Dominic is proud of his family’s heritage from Jordan and Iraq, and he is happiest when he gets to spend time with his grandparents. Ms. Susie says that Dominic is "energetic, happy, a group builder, positive, charismatic, competitive, and fun."
