Snapshot of Success: Highlights from Our 24th Week!

Hearts, Sunshine, and Joy: A Valentine’s Day Full of Cheer

After two days of rain, it was as if the sun knew today was Valentine's Day. At last, it peeked out from behind the thick clouds, shining brightly. The children, who had grown weary of the gloomy weather, seemed to burst with excitement, releasing their pent-up energy into the sky and towards one another.

Beyond their regular lessons, students poured their enthusiasm into creative projects, crafting heartfelt artwork for their teachers and parents. In Jupiter Class, students combined their beautifully written Valentine’s poems with colorful illustrations, bringing their love for the day to life.

Adding to the joyful atmosphere, Ms. Theresa’s birthday happened to fall on the same day. Amid the artistic activities, classrooms across the school filled with cheerful voices singing “Happy Birthday” in her honor. Below is a glimpse of the students’ wonderful creations.

  • Flower’s bloom and colors play, wishing you joy this shared and laughter bright, May your heart feel warm and light.

  • Roses are red, grass is green, I like you because you went to work.

  • Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you!

  • I love spring, when colors sing. I also like summer. When fall comes around it's almost a bummer.

  • Roses are red, Manchester is blue, Man City is better, Better than Man!

Weekly Interview

Dominic Castillo, Venus

Meet Dominic Castillo! This is Dominic’s second year at ISSAC. His sister, Alexa, is in the Mars class. This Tuesday, February 11th, was Dominic’s 7th birthday! His classmates had the chance to ask him a bunch of interview questions. Here are Dominic’s answers.

Dominic is very close with his family. They watch movies together, go to fun places, and play games. He admires his mom because she is very nice, helps him with his homework, and cooks delicious food like bacon and eggs. He appreciates his sister, Alexa, because she plays with him. Dominic loves spending time with his dad because they play video games, are silly, and cook foods like hot dogs.

Dominic’s number one movie character is Sonic because he’s fast, and his favorite toy is Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage because "you can make your own designs." His top holiday is Christmas, and his favorite color is rainbow.

What Dominic likes about ISSAC are all the wonderful celebrations and the amazing things he has learned. Dominic’s teacher, Ms. Norely, says that Dominic is "playful, empathetic, kind, and joyful."

Dominic, you are incredible!

Xochitl Mondrangon, Saturn

Meet Xochitl! This is her first year at ISSAC, along with her sister, Aranza, who is in the Mars class. Xochitl is in the fifth grade, and she is ten years old. Her favorite subjects in school are languages and music. She even knows how to play the piano, the violin, and the clarinet.

Xochitl's favorite ISSAC memory was the Undoukai (Japanese Field Day). With her family, she likes to go to the beach and swim with her father in the ocean. She also likes to visit her uncle's house and go up to the snow.

Her dream job is to be a pediatrician, and her goal is to get better at playing the piano. Xochitl's top food is pozole, which her mom makes for her family. Her favorite place to hang out is her backyard, where her father and grandmother tend to their garden and grow plants such as banana trees and passion fruit.

Her top season is fall because her birthday is October 11th, and the temperature is neither too hot nor too cold. Xochitl describes herself as nice, caring, and funny. If she had a superpower, it would be teleportation because she could go anywhere she wanted. She admires her mother the most because "She is nice, caring, and will do anything for us."

Welcome to ISSAC, Xochitl! It's so good to have you here!

The sign up form for parents - teacher conference will be provided next week.
