Weekly Interview

Amaya Franco, Saturn

Meet Amaya! This is her first year at ISSAC, along with her brother, Ari. What Amaya appreciates most about ISSAC is the grassy field where she plays P.E. and the fun Art she projects in class. She is nine years old and her birthday is August 20th, which is explains why her favorite season is Summer! Amaya lives in Santa Ana with her family, and loves to eat the chicken and lasagna her mom makes for her. Amaya is also a very talented cook and her most impressive dish is scrambled eggs. She even wants to be a chef in the future. Amaya is thankful for food, her family, and the roof over her head. Amaya's most favorable memory was visiting her Grandma recently in Nevada. On her free time, Amaya likes to go shopping and to the movies. Amaya's three greatest talents are gymnastics, basketball, and soccer. For her PBL on Human Rights, Amaya is learning that everyone has a right to an education. "I am so proud of her for her first year at public school, for her persistence, willingness to be competent, she never gives up, and continues to give her best. She has come very far in a short period of time. She is outspoken, always speaks up for what is fair and what she thinks is fair," says Amaya's mom. Welcome Amaaya to ISSAC!
