Below are the names of faculty and staff that will be working the
2019 Iowa State Fair
with dates and locations.
We would like to invite you to stop by and say 'hi' to faculty and staff at the fair.
Below are just some of the activities that our faculty and staff are involved in:
Iowa Pork Producers Association Tent,
August 10 and 11, Animal Science faculty, staff and graduate students will be working the pork tent on these two days
IMAC - I milked a cow,
Iowa State University Dairy Science Club, Every day from 9 AM - 11 AM, Boulevard of Dairy Breeds, John and Emily Putney Family Cattle Barn. Cost is $3 to milk a cow.
south side of the fairgrounds in the livestock barns during the fair – primarily in the sheep barn, but also in the swine and cattle barns. Sheep Barn - With the FFA and 4-H sheep shows volunteering, as well as the Iowa Club Lamb Association Wether Sire/Dam Show and Sale (working the show and sale).

Iowa State Fair 4-H Horse show, Horses check in Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday morning. To see a schedule, click
. I also help with check in of horses and work with the 4-H horse committee that manages the show.

- Sat. August 10th -Tuesday, August 13th – Superintendent, 4-H Swine Show (Swine Barn) - ISU Block and Bridle members will also be helping with the show
- Thurs. August 15th– 11 AM-1 PM – Celebrity Chef, Iowa Pork Tent
- Sat. August 17th – Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement (IFAA) Scholarship Picnic
- Sun. August 18th – ISU Block and Bridle and ISU Alpha Gamma Rho work the final shift at the Iowa Pork Tent

8 AM - 11:30 AM in the Agriculture Building on the opening day of the Iowa State Fair, August 8
, ISU Meat Science Extension personnel; Dr. Joe Cordray, Matt Wenger, Emily Usinger and Michael Cropp will be working with the Iowa Meat Processors Association to hold the Iowa Meat Processors Association Annual Iowa State Fair Ham, Bacon and Smoked Cured Beef Competition.
