Postdoctoral Researchers' Networking Tour 2018

The tour offers on-site visits to universities, research institutes and companies in the field of artificial intelligence, discussions with experts and numerous networking opportunities. Program related costs and a travel allowance are covered by DAAD . The tour takes place Sept 23rd-29th, 2018. Apply by July 15th, 2018.

Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience (P.R.I.M.E.)

This funding program addresses postdocs of all nationalities, who see their future career in Germany, but who first wish to spend some time researching abroad. Funding is provided for 18 months, of which 12 have to be spent abroad and 6 at a German university.  Apply by August 31st, 2018.

In cooperation with DAAD, the German Academy New York is offering a grant for research on the history of 1014 Fifth Avenue, New York.  Fellowships are awarded for specific research in New York, Montana, and Germany.

The German Center for Research and Innovation (GCRI) is hosting the Falling Walls Lab, a global forum for innovators to pitch their research and business ideas. Entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers will present their ground-breaking projects and business plans in three-minute pitches. Apply by July 27th.

Survey
International Students Recommend Studying in Germany

A recent survey commissioned by the German ministry of Education revealed that 84% of international students in Germany would recommend Germany as a place to study to their peers. The main reasons cited are increased contact to professors and sufficient preparatory courses and German classes. Read on by clicking the link below.

Media and Operations Intern Wanted

The German Center for Research and Innovation seeks a media and operations intern for a minimum of 6 months .
This position requires a commitment of 38.5 hours per week; additional evening and weekend hours may be necessary. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Apply by July 22nd, 2018.

Christina Gerhardt is Associate Professor at the University of Hawaii. She has held visiting appointments at the Freie Universität, Harvard University, Columbia University and the University of California at Berkeley. She has been awarded grants by many funding organizations, including DAAD.

ERG Kampagne: Unterstützung von Scholars at Risk
Anlässlich des 70. Gründungsjahres der Freien Universität Berlin hat die Ernst-Reuter-Gesellschaft e.V. eine Spendenkampagne gestartet. Ziel ist es, in den kommenden fünf Jahren jährlich zwei bedrohten ForscherInnen einen Aufenthalt an der Freien Universität zu ermöglichen und damit einen Ort und die Zeit ihre wissenschaftliche Arbeit fortzusetzen.
