Office 365 Renamed to Microsoft 365 - Frequently Asked Questions
As you may already know, Microsoft renamed its popular Office 365 product to Microsoft 365 in April 2020. We've listed a few FAQs below.

Why the name change? Microsoft's customers were having a hard time understanding that Office 365 was more than just Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; it also includes new apps like Teams, Stream, Forms, and Planner.

What does this mean for customers? If you have Office 365 Business Essentials, Business Premium or Microsoft 365 Business the only change is your subscription will have a new name.

Did prices increase? There were no price changes, no feature changes, or business model changes as part of the renaming.

What are the new names? The following product names changed.

Office 365 Business Essentials => Microsoft 365 Business Basic
Office 365 Business Premium => Microsoft 365 Business Standard
Microsoft 365 Business => Microsoft 365 Business Premium
Office 365 Business => Microsoft 365 Apps for Business
Office 365 ProPlus => Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise
