2013 NCS Research and Development Workshop
2013 Information Technology Research and Development Workshop 
Objective: To build collaborative, purposeful and rigorous research efforts towards national building
All is set for the second edition of Computer Science Research and Development Workshop which will be held at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria from October 29 to 31, 2013. 

NCS aims to improve R&D performance and contribution to the national development agenda through the workshop and its outcomes.  

Highlights include Exposure to modern Computer Science research methodologies and tools; 
Grant seeking proposal writing; Information about grants, fellowships and scholarships; 
Exhibition of Research outputs; Excellence in Research Awards, etc.

Zinox reaffirms commitment to NCS
Local Content, Strategic Partnerships 
Zinox, the Nigerian ICT solutions giant has reaffirmed its commitment to the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS). Renewed support for NCS came from Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, Zinox's Chairman during the society's recent visit to the tech company.

NCS President, Prof. David Adewumi commended Zinox group for its long relationship with NCS and the significant contributions of Zinox to  the development of Nigeria's knowledge economy.

Chief Stan Ekeh noted the crucial role of NCS especially in advocacy emphasizing that Zinox remains ever devoted to the society. Zinox management and the NCS leadership agreed to work together in enforcing the local content policy, capacity building and actualizing digital inclusion.

Preparations are in top gear for the 2013 National Software Conference and Competition organized by the Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) in Tinapa Calabar holding from 22 - 23 October 2013. Conference theme is: ""Software Strategies for Retooling the Workforce (SORWORK)"".

NCS Lagos Chapter holds 2013 IT Conference and Awards
Nigeria Computer Society Lagos State Chapter held its 2013 IT Conference and Awards.on  Thursday, 26 September, 2013 at the Ikeja Airport Hotel, Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos. Highlight of the event was the recognition of Deacon Ojinta Oji-Alala and Prof. G. M. M. Obi with the Information Technology Golden Names 2013 Award.
