Meadows Monday

A mostly weekly news update from Elk Meadows HOA, Ridgway, Colorado
July 28, 2020
FIRE BAN!!
If you are renting your home please remind your guests that there is a fire ban in EM and that means no outside fires, no smoking outside, and no fireworks. Grilling on a gas grill is permissible. On Sunday, 7.26.2020, a family of renters had a fire outside and they thought they were complying to the rules since the instructions from the owner said they could use the fire pit. Many renters are unaware that a wildfire can start from a spark from anything so please stay up to date about Ouray County restrictions and inform your guests.
FOR SALE??
The Board has been asked to consider placing classified advertisements in MM for Elk Meadows residents. This would allow members to advertise for business, sales, donations, help wanted and other announcements. While the Board will not promote any business, it would like to support everyone in Elk Meadows who would like to offer their skills. Thus, the Board would like feedback from the community regarding this idea. We also have a Facebook page with 26 members but there has not been a post since 2018. This would also be a great resource to communicate needs and wants within EM.

ROADS....
Roads: Spring grading is still underway, including ditches and culverts. Some members have raised particular road-to-ditch problems to the Board and resolving these issues is part of this spring grading initiative.
DUST & SPEED
Speed and dust control: The Board is looking for people who are willing to be on a committee to research options to this problem including speed dips, Mag Chloride, or other solutions. If you wish to volunteer please contact emhoa.secretary@gmail.com.

Here is a quick video from the Surgeon General on how to make a simple mask.

Please remember to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; washing every finger thoroughly as well as top and bottom your your hands.

Also, PLEASE check on your neighbors. If they are ill make sure they are getting the help they need. A simple phone call or a bag of groceries dropped at their doorstep is a huge help for many people at this time.
Please remember social distancing....it is working.
It is our only chance at containing this dreaded disease!!
STAY SAFE AND STAY WELL!!
