Meadows Monday

A mostly weekly news update from Elk Meadows HOA, Ridgway, Colorado
August 17, 2020
WATER USAGE
July Water Usage is unusually high. Please check your water usage on the web. Use the column “Usage x 10” and move the decimal point one place to the right. For example, if your “Usage x 10” says 350.000, move the decimal point one place to the right and it will read 3500.00 gallons. We are allowed 7000 gallons per homeowner. For anything over there is a minimal charge. Many of us have used more water than 7000 gallons. This is probably due to watering vegetable gardens and trees as well as an influx of renters. The main concern are leaks, especially for those whose main residence is elsewhere. If your usage is unusually high and there is no explanation, please let someone know and we can check for a leak.
RULES DOCUMENT
Check out the Rules document on the web under the HOA tab. There are no new rules; this is intended as an easy-to-reference summary. We ask that you review it and offer constructive comment if necessary.
RENTALS & GUESTS
We still have visitors in Elk Meadows from Colorado as well as other states. If you rent your home please inform your guests of the fire hazards in our area. As of this writing there is no fire ban, but it is very risky to smoke outdoors or have any type of outside fire unless it is propane.
Also, inform them that pets must be kept on a leash and respect the quiet times from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. We have had some complaints about dogs barking in the wee hours of the morning, so please be considerate of your neighbors.
FACEBOOK
Our Facebook page is up and running. Please feel free to use it for announcements or for classified ads. Go to Elk Meadows Estates and post your ads or announcements. All posts are monitored for appropriateness. If not already a member of Elk Meadows Facebook Group you must answer all questions upon signing up. Once that is complete you will be granted access.
THANK YOU!
Thank you to Lonnie White, Baird Brown, Peter Rowland, Mike Pennings, Doug Bergh, and Jim and Kathy Pettengill for removing dead Aspens. Elk Meadows is safer and looks better!
COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS
TODAY'S UPDATE
As of August 15 the state of Colorado has a total of 53,176 confirmed cases of the virus in Colorado with a total of 1849 deaths. A total of 631,008 people have been tested and currently 6735 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Colorado.

Here is a quick video from the Surgeon General on how to make a simple mask.

Please remember to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; washing every finger thoroughly as well as top and bottom your your hands.

Also, PLEASE check on your neighbors. If they are ill make sure they are getting the help they need. A simple phone call or a bag of groceries dropped at their doorstep is a huge help for many people at this time.
Please remember social distancing....it is working.
It is our only chance at containing this dreaded disease!!
STAY SAFE AND STAY WELL!!
