WELCOME TO ELK MEADOWS!!
Welcome to our new neighbors, the Rogers! new home arrived on April 24th at 2280 Aspen Drive. There is still work to be done and they hope to be moved in between June and July.

"We would like to thank our neighbors not only for their patience throughout our building project but also for their overwhelming support, kindness, and welcoming to the neighborhood. What a wonderful place to live!"

HOPE OUR HAWK

In case there's folks who are wondering about HOPE our HAWK:

The latest word on HOPE, our injured hawk, is that she is in rehab in Denver. We are hoping she will eventually be returned to Elk Meadows where her mate is waiting for her. But if it takes too long, then her mate will find another so there will be offspring.
PLEASE HELP!
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED IN ELK MEADOWS
Thank you, Sebastian Wicklein for stepping up as a candidate for the EMBOD this year. Who will step up next? At the time of the 2020 Annual Meeting in July we will be short two Board members. Please consider volunteering by applying to be a member on the Board or joining a committee beginning this new Elk Meadows year.  Please send a short description about your background, experience and why you are in interested in being on the Board or a committee to: emhoa.secretary@gmail.com . The Board will help you through the process and answer any questions you have.

The pandemic is testing all of us, but adversity teaches us that we are capable of more than we thought. I took my husband’s place on the Board when he passed last September with trepidation, but the members on the Board have helped me understand where I can be most helpful. The Board members are a team; a family committed to managing the affairs of the community with the help of expert advisors in all significant areas, such as water, sewer, accounting, and legal. We work together for the overarching purpose of the betterment of Elk Meadows just as the Boards of the past have always done.

Perhaps you wonder what you could offer, as I did. This much I know, we all have skills from life experiences and untapped talents that would benefit Elk Meadows. There is something for everyone to get involved in and you will find that volunteering is very rewarding. This community belongs to all of us. It is not just a place to live, it is a family that depends on one another. Is it time for you to help as a volunteer in some way? We look forward to hearing from you!

Stay well and be safe,
Kimberley Stagg, Board member
PROTECT YOUR TREES!!
This is also the perfect time to staple your MCH bubbles to your Douglas-firs. Douglas-fir trees have short needles while Ponderosa Pines have long needles. Remove old bubble and staple new bubble on the north side of tree approximately 6 to 8 feet high. If you need MCH bubbles there is still time to order them. If you are unable to treat your trees because you are not here please notify the BOD at  emhoa.secretary@gmail.com  first and request neighborhood volunteers to help treat your Douglas-Firs. Then order your bubbles and have them sent to Kimberley Stagg, 44 Fawn Lane, Ridgway, CO 81432. The more trees we treat the more we will hopefully save.
Call/text Diane at 970 901-2845 -- she has 9 MCH bubbles left at $4.00 each.

Go to the link below to order your MCH bubbles.

COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS

TODAY'S UPDATE
A s of today  the state of Colorado's death toll is 1215. There now have been a total of 21,797 confirmed cases of the virus in Colorado. A total of 181,909 people have been tested. All residents of Colorado have been asked by Gov. Jared Polis as well as President Trump to please wear non-medical masks when out in public to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Here is a quick video from the Surgeon General on how to make a simple mask.
And please remember to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; washing every finger thoroughly as well as top and bottom your your hands.
Also, PLEASE check on your neighbors. If they are ill make sure they are getting the help they need. A simple phone call or a bag of groceries dropped at their doorstep is a huge help for many people at this time.
Please remember social distancing....it is working.
It is our only chance at containing this dreaded disease!!
STAY SAFE AND STAY WELL!!
