PUZZLES & PITCHERS A SUCCESS!

What a great group of puzzlers we had at our now second annual puzzle event. This is just a fun time to enjoy puzzling with a little competitive edge! Thanks to the American Legion for hosting and providing some tasty nachos and refreshing drinks! Many stayed after to enjoy some bingo and dinner!

The first place winners from Comfort Keepers maintained their title, finishing their puzzle in 33 minutes (2 on right). Second place went to Edward Jones (2 gals on left) finishing in 37 minutes. Several followed close after and all finished their puzzles! This may become a twice annual event as it is so much fun!

CHAMBER PLASTIC COLLECTION GOING STRONG!

The Chamber is a collection point for plastic that Whirltronics helps us turn in and be made into benches that non-profits around the community can receive. So far, the Rotary Club of Buffalo, the Chamber, Tatanka School and Wise Penny have benches. Next up is Buffalo Evangelical Free Church, Functional Industries, Parkside Elementary, Connection Pointe Church and the Buffalo Lions.

AMBASSADORS ON THE MOVE

BUFFALO BAIL BONDS

12 2nd St NE

763-682-6771

Well, though I can't explain the process clearly, I learned a lot about bail bonds after stopping in at Buffalo Bail Bonds with the Chamber Ambassadors. Buffalo Bail Bonds/AAA Bail Bonds, a division of Thomes Bail Bonds, has been serving families since 1991.

AAA Bail Bonds has thirteen agents throughout the state, with three of those being here in Buffalo, where AAA Bail Bonds got its humble beginnings back in 1991. Liz Christian, the owner, works on day-to-day operations and keeps everything on schedule. Derek is the Wright County agent and also works as the recovery person (AKA bounty hunter). Michelle is also a licensed bail agent serving Wright County and is the Executive Administrator, helping with intake and answering phones (she is the smiling face you see when you walk in the front door). AAA Bail Bonds is open seven days a week and serves, on average, 75 clients a month. Bonds are considered insurance - and follow the same laws backed by insurance companies. They are audited annually and are one of about 35 bail bond companies in Minnesota. Some examples of charges that clients are facing may include DWI, drug charges, or domestic assault charges. Clients in and out of custody, as well as loved ones and friends, can contact the office if they need bail bond services. Everyone at AAA Bail Bonds treats their clients with grace and kindness, keeping in touch with clients to help them be successful.

Here is some terminology that can help you to understand better what important job they play:

·        SURETY: The insurance company that supports/guarantees with the State/Court for every bond posted by a Bail Bond Company/Agent. The Surety empowers the Bail Bond Company to act in its authority as its Agent.

·        BAIL AGENT/COMPANY: The entity conducting business and establishing/posting bail on behalf of a Surety for an accused person. In Minnesota, the minimum cost for a bail bond is 10%. In some instances, a minimum fee may be charged, and travel/administrative costs could apply.

·        BAIL BOND: An instrument securing the release of an accused person (Defendant) into the custody of their “Surety” (Bail Bond Company). When a bail bond is posted, the Defendant is released from a physical custody status or restrictions imposed by the Court into a non-physical custody status controlled by the bail bond company. The Defendant must agree to be released into the custody of their “Surety” (Bail Bond Company) and accept any terms or conditions that the bail bond company may impose through the bail bond agreement.

AAA Bail Bonds also sponsors the Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge Annual Gala because it aligns with its mission to give back to the community and support people looking to make meaningful changes in their lives. Their sponsorship helps programs like MN Adult & Teen Challenge transform lives.

Though it's often a difficult time in people's lives, AAA Bail Bonds is here to make the journey as pain-free as possible. We will have to go back and learn more—it was very interesting!!
