Happy July ITE Kentucky! We hope everyone is enjoying the summer weather - and staying cool!

See below for the current schedule for ITE Kentucky for the remainder of 2025. We have quite a few Technical Session, Lunch and Learns, and Webinars planned, so keep an eye out for further details and reminders as we partner with other Sections and Societies!

Are you interested in how Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) can be applied in Rural Communities? Then register (free with your ITE membership!) for "Smart Roads, Small Towns: Advancing ITS in Rural Communities" webinar on July 22! This webinar is a joint venture between the ITE - TSMO Council and Natural Rural ITS. View the entire calendar of events, webinars, and courses here.

You might also notice that some things will start changing with the newsletter - but that's just all of ITE - including us - getting a bit of a touch-up here and there with our logo and branding. Keep an eye out as we roll it out!

Louisville - Help Builds Hope

Our Community Service Committee has also identified a potential volunteer opportunity in Louisville on August 23rd. Help Builds Hope has organized an event to build frame walls in support of Habitat for Humanity and Fuller Center for Housing. By constructing these walls in units ahead of time, the on-site construction time can be reduced. Supporting this event will help create more affordable housing throughout the area.

For those interested in volunteering at this event - please complete this form. Thank you!

ITE Kentucky - Committees

With the 2025 season of events already underway, the Board is asking for volunteers to assist in the various Committees that make these events possible and successful. A brief description of our Committees is included below. If any member is interested in lending their talents, expertise, and time to any of the Committees, please reach out to the officers at kysite@itedsc.org.

Golf Outing Committee

The Golf Outing Committee is responsible for organizing the Annual Golf Outing which benefits the William "Bill" Seymour Scholarship. Members of this committee identify sponsors, catering, and work with the Board to schedule and organize teams for the Golf Outing.

Community Service Committee

The new Community Service Committee is responsible for directing the Section's philanthropic efforts, so we can give back to the communities we serve as transportation practitioners. Committee members identify service opportunities, organize volunteers and schedule events with the Board.

Sponsorship Committee

The 2025 Board of Officers would like to start up a Sponsorship Committee to be a liaison between the Section and corporate entities. Members would facilitate Sponsorship opportunities and work with the other Committees to identify, contact, and manage relationships with corporate sponsors to help fund the Scholarship, events and training opportunities across the Commonwealth.

Student Engagement Committee

Our Student Engagement Committee is a vital part of the Section and the community of transportation professionals. They help facilitate conversations with Kentucky students and university faculty to attract and mentor talent. The Committee has successfully restarted the UK Student Chapter of ITE and is looking for alumni to aid in similar ventures at UofL and WKU.

Silent Auction Committee

The Silent Auction is a big part of the Annual Banquet and helps fund the William "Bill" Seymour Scholarship. The Committee coordinates closely with the Board, soliciting donations to and running the Silent Auction at the Annual Banquet.
