RESTON, VA, June 5, 2025 - The International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) today announces its official transition to D2L Brightspace as its new Learning Management System (LMS) provider. This strategic move, approved by the ITEEA Board in April 2025, marks a significant step forward in enhancing the delivery of ITEEA's renowned Engineering byDesign (EbD) curriculum as well as improving the overall learning experience for educators and students.

The decision to transition to D2L Brightspace comes after a comprehensive evaluation of current LMS solutions, driven by ITEEA's primary primary goals of improving the user experience, fostering growth in LMS usage, and facilitating curricular enhancements. D2L Brightspace was selected for its industry-leading analytics and reporting capabilities, robust customer service, open Application Programming Interface (API), and a streamlined user interface designed to be intuitive for both educators and learners. These features are crucial to addressing the feedback received from ITEEA educators, who expressed a need for improved content organization, easier navigation, and a more visually appealing platform.

The migration of all Engineering byDesign curriculum from the current LMS, Agilix Buzz, to D2L Brightspace will occur over the summer. The transition begins in June 2025, with expected completion by early August 2025, in time for the 2025-26 school year. ITEEA looks forward to this transformative upgrade and anticipates that D2L Brightspace will significantly enhance the delivery of technology and engineering education while better serving the evolving needs of educators and students nationwide.
