Ohio's Upcoming 4th Annual Town & Gown Summit
We're now at over 120 registrants for the 2019 Ohio Town & Gown Summit, July 18 & 19, and still have room for more! Please consider attending! This is Ohio's 4th annual summit and it features leaders from local governances, villages, legislators, first responders, and a wide array of university positions including faculty and administrators. Proud Larry Abernathy recipients, the City of Kent, Ohio and Kent State University are within a 5-hour drive of 7 states including Indiana (Indianapolis), Kentucky (Lexington), Michigan (Ann Arbor, Detroit, East Lansing) and New York (Buffalo, Rochester) to name a few. Registration is $60 and includes lunch vouchers for both days and a breakfast reception with Dr. Todd Diacon, Kent State University's President. Register Now for a 2019 Communities Talk Planning Stipend
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is offering colleges, universities and local organizations a limited number of $750 stipends to help cover the cost of planning and holding an underage drinking prevention event as part of the Communities Talk initiative. Communities Talk events provide an environment for open conversations among youth, students, parents, and community stakeholders about the importance of preventing underage drinking. If you would like to participate in this year's initiative and register for a planning stipend, email info@stopalcoholabuse.net. Stipends will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. SAMHSA
