In October, the ITRC director represented UC San Diego and presented a workshop at the NIEA conference in Reno, NV. It was an exciting and informative opportunity - the director returned with lots of energy, new partners and fresh ideas!

Several NASA/AIGSA members and the ITRC Director attended this annual conference, held this year at SDSU. It was a great opportunity to foster intercollegiate engagement and learn about important issues related to California Natives.

American Indian Recruitment (AIR) Annual Banquet
|
The annual AIR Banquet was held on November 3rd to celebrate and fundraise for their programs. AIR provides educational opportunities for youths and prepares them for the future. ITRC Director, Elena Hood attended with Native Community members as well as UCSD N.A.S.A. members.

Thank you to all who attended the inaugural Director's Welcome Reception. It was a pleasure to see community members, in addition to UC San Diego, faculty, staff, and students supporting the Director in her new role.

Undergraduate and Graduate Student Outreach

UC San Diego GSA and ITRC hosted local Native American high school students and prospective graduate students. Students were invited to learn about opportunities at UCSD and to visit the ITRC. Several students have already followed up and expressed enthusiastic interest in applying to our campus!
